However, the one element that requires attention is your character's name, which is not immediately customizable during the character creation process.

If you find yourself wanting to make adjustments to your character's name after the initial creation, there are certain considerations to keep in mind.

Current Name Change Options

At present, there is no direct method to change the name of an existing Palworld character. The initial opportunity to name your character is presented during the character creation screen just before the game commences.

It's important to note that the ability to set your own name may not be available to Xbox Game Pass players due to version differences between Steam and Xbox Game Pass.

Changing Names by Joining a Different Server

If you opt to join a different server, you will have the opportunity to change your character's name as you embark on a new journey with a fresh character.

Once you have selected a name for your character, it cannot be altered until a future patch introduces an edit feature. Additionally, character appearance changes are also not possible, so it's essential to choose your character's appearance wisely.

While Pocketpair intends to implement a re-edit feature in the future, it is recommended to make informed decisions until the feature becomes available.

Changing Pal Names

Currently, the only names that can be changed are those of your Pals. You can assign nicknames to your Pals by accessing the Options screen, selecting the Party window, and choosing a Pal for editing.

If the Edit button is not visible, it may be necessary to level up your Pal by engaging in combat or assigning them tasks within your base.

It's worth noting that Xbox Game Pass players may not have access to the Pal rename feature in their version of the game.

Last Resort: Starting Anew

As a final option for changing your Palworld character name, you have the choice to delete your world save file and embark on a new journey.

To do so, navigate to the main menu, select your world, and choose the Delete World option. Enter 'DELETE' in capital letters when prompted, and bid farewell to your existing save file.
