Holly Robinson Peete is hopeful that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will last in the long run.
"It's a blast dating a football player, especially someone as amazing and talented as Travis. It's thrilling, and I'm rooting for them," Robinson Peete, 59, shared exclusively with We earlier this month while discussing her collaboration with Sumitomo Pharma America.
Robinson Peete, married to former NFL star Rodney Peete, expressed her excitement at watching the romance between Swift, 33, and Kelce blossom on screen while she watches football with friends. However, she mentioned that her friends who are football fans don't share her enthusiasm for the couple. "A lot of my football fan friends say, 'I don’t want to hear about it.' But I love it, I want to see all of it," she said. "I was so sad when [Swift] wasn’t at Monday Night Football because I wanted to see the in-laws."
Robinson Peete discussed the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Philadelphia Eagles, where it was anticipated that Swift’s parents would meet Travis’ family. Unfortunately, Swift was unable to attend as she had a rescheduled concert in Brazil that night. Despite the attention on their relationship, Peete praised the couple for handling the spotlight admirably.
“It’s a big spotlight, but I think they’re handling it super well,” she told Us. “I’m team Taylor/Kelce. I want her to marry him.”

Robinson Peete has first-hand experience with dating an NFL player at the height of his career. She started dating Peete, who was the star quarterback for the Detroit Lions in the ‘90s, when she was in her late 20s. The couple got married in 1995 and have four children together: Ryan Elizabeth, Rodney Jr, Robinson James, and Roman. Reflecting on the early days of their relationship, she emphasized the absence of social media, which spared them from public scrutiny and interference.
The Hallmark star humorously mentioned that if social media had been around when she was younger, she may have risked getting Peete "cut from every team he was on" due to her inability to hold back her thoughts.
Aside from cheering for Travis and Swift in football, Robinson Peete has also been active in advocating for people suffering from overactive bladder (OAB), a condition she also experiences. Recently, she collaborated with Sumitomo Pharma America for their "Time to Go" campaign to raise awareness about the symptoms of the condition.

"I didn't realize I had it until a friend urged me to see a doctor about my symptoms," she explained, mentioning that she had been experiencing frequent urination. "I was puzzled about what was happening. As a woman of a certain age, I thought it was just a normal part of aging."
After her diagnosis, Robinson Peete's doctor prescribed Gemtesa, which she has been taking for a year. Since beginning the medication, she has noticed a reduction in her symptoms and is now able to participate in her favorite activities without worrying about her bladder.
