Hoda Kotb is thrilled about her love life, having recently gone on two dates with a new mystery man. She shared on The Drew Barrymore Show that she hadn't been on a date in two years, since her previous relationship with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman ended. Kotb, who is 59 years old, happily announced that she and her new beau are planning to go on a third date together.

She continued to share, "I think it was just enjoyable to talk about something other than kids and work. It was about life, and I missed that. And he's really good looking."

Kotb was married to Burzis Kanga from 2005 to 2008. In 2013, she started a new chapter with Schiffman, who is 66 years old. Together, they adopted two daughters - Haley, 7, and Hope, 4. After eight years, they announced their split in January 2022.

Kotb shared with Drew Barrymore and cohost Ross Mathews that she used to prioritize her partner's happiness in her previous relationship. She realized that constantly trying to please others made her lose sight of her own identity and needs. Now, she has learned to be true to herself and confidently express her wants without feeling the need to constantly cater to others. She described how liberating it feels to no longer bend over backwards to make everyone happy, as she had done for most of her life.

When it comes to finding a new romantic partner, Kotb has certain buckets she wants someone to fill, like an emotional and spiritual bucket. She believes there are many aspects to consider in life, and she realizes there is more she desires in a partner.

One quality Kotb is seeking in a man is someone who has experience in stable relationships and understands the depth of love, similar to the love for children. Another important factor for her is how a person speaks about their past relationships, as it holds significant value in her eyes.

Kotb shared on The Kelly Clarkson Show in March that she went on her first date in two years. Her cohost Jenna Bush Hager from Today With Hoda & Jenna confessed that she was the one who set up Kotb's new romantic link.

Jenna, 42, shared her matchmaking strategy on the show’s March 22 episode. She advised against sticking to the same group of people when trying to set up a match. In March, Kotb shared a rare comment about Schiffman when discussing her past relationships on Today. She mentioned, "I’ve only been with people who are super polite. Like, when I get up from the table, for instance, Joel got up every time, every time, even if it’s a normal dinner."
