Hilary Duff is expressing her endorsement for a former romantic interest.

The 36-year-old star of How I Met Your Father posted a video on her Instagram Story on Monday, October 23. In the video, she can be seen attending Joel Madden's performance with his band, Good Charlotte, at the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas. It is worth noting that Duff and Madden, who is 44 years old, were romantically linked during her teenage years, from 2004 to 2006.

She exclaimed, "This!!!" as she captioned a video of the band's remarkable performance, accompanied by an astonished face emoji. The post also included several other clips and snapshots from the concert.

Former Lizzie McGuire star, Hilary Duff, tied the knot with Matthew Koma in December 2019. The married couple has two daughters, Banks (4) and Mae (2). Additionally, Duff has a son named Luca (11) from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.

Duff revealed earlier this year that she maintains a positive relationship with her ex and also socializes with Madden's wife, Nicole Richie. Duff mentioned during a January interview on Watch What Happens Live that she has a good bond with Madden's entire family and they spend regular time together.

The group of four friends, who frequently go hiking together, also happen to be neighbors. Duff revealed to Andy Cohen that she recently visited Richie's driveway and tried to convince her to join them for a glass of wine. Unfortunately, Richie was unable to make it as she had already fallen asleep by 8 PM.

Duff further mentioned that despite her history with the musician, her husband remains unfazed by their friendship and has even delighted in playing some practical jokes on the group.

Duff expressed her admiration for her husband, referring to him as a "giant troll," which she found endearing. She recounted a humorous incident involving her brother-in-law, Joel Madden, and her husband's playful nature. Matt, her husband, had photoshopped a picture of Joel and Benji Madden with Duff, wishing her a happy Valentine’s Day. This unexpected gathering of the four of them, along with friends, in Los Angeles in February 2022, garnered significant attention and surprised many.

Despite their breakup, the couple has maintained a friendly relationship. Madden revealed that they still communicate even a year after their separation.

"In every instance, I hold respect for all the women I've dated, and I always strive to end things amicably," Madden expressed in a March 2007 interview with People. "While I don't believe it's necessary to remain friends with exes, I do believe in showing respect for the time shared and being considerate, which is what I aim to do."

Ignoring the controversy surrounding their nine-year age difference, Madden expressed indifference towards people's opinions about his relationship with Duff. He stated that others can think or say whatever they want, as it holds no significance in his reality. Madden emphasized that he always strives to do the right thing and maintain a clean slate.
