Despite being recently added to Netflix (as of October 20, 2023), Old Dads has quickly climbed to the number one spot on the list of most-watched movies.
According to the film's summary, a middle-aged father and his two close friends face challenges in adapting to a rapidly changing world of culture, career, and fatherhood after selling their company to a millennial. Nevertheless, Rotten Tomatoes indicates that Netflix's perception of the success of the Bill Burr comedy may be overly optimistic.

Although Netflix users are enjoying the binge watch, Rotten Tomatoes users have mixed feelings. The film currently holds a Tomatometer rating of 18%, while the audience score stands at a solid 90%.
According to Todd McCarthy at Deadline, the film is a crude and excessively vulgar comedy. It seems as though the excessive use of profanity was a deliberate attempt to set a record for a major studio movie.
David Ehrlich at IndieWire shares the same sentiment, noting that the film's attempt to offend falls flat as the comedian, Burr, lacks the necessary commitment. Rather than aiming to anger people, he simply wants to express his frustrations with progressive culture.
The audience reviews for the Bill Burr comedy paint a completely different picture.
Stravri D hails the movie "Old Dads" on Rotten Tomatoes as "absolutely incredible! The so-called 'critics' completely lack touch with reality... I mean, just look at the numbers! Don't rely on these supposed 'critics', just give it a watch!" Similarly, Jimmah 3 confesses, "Being a huge fan of Bill Burr, he is my all-time favorite comedian, so maybe I'm a little biased... but I genuinely enjoyed this film."
