Following the incomplete introduction of only a fraction of the 52 X-Playing cards in the first season, along with numerous unresolved story gaps, anticipation has been building amongst fans for the impending release of the second season. The wait will soon reach its culmination as High Card season 2 is slated to debut in January 2024.
This thrilling news was unveiled through the official trailer for the sequel on Kadokawa's YouTube channel, uploaded on August 1, 2023.
In addition, the anime has announced that a stage play will be held in the same month, possibly a few days before the release of High Card season 2.
FIVE NEW OLD, a popular rock band in Japan, will be performing the opening theme song called "Trickster" for High Card season 2. The ending theme song, titled "Squad!", will be sung by Meychan.
A second novel for the series, titled "HIGH CARD–3Green Green&5Calories High," commenced serialization in Monthly Newtype magazine on September 8, 2023.
