LINE Sticker Characters Make a Splash in Upcoming Anime!

The LINE Creators Support Program provides a platform for creators to monetize their original characters by designing them into stickers for the social media platform. While designing stickers is open to all, only accepted applicants can join the program, which offers support for their designs to gain visibility and hopefully be purchased by many people. The program received over 3,000 applications from creators last year.

For these creators, having their LINE character stickers turned into an anime is a massive accomplishment. Previously, they may have thought that their original characters would be limited to digital stickers. This is actually the second project from the creator platform MECRE's project X-Anime, which transforms the work of artists and illustrators into anime.

When it comes to anime, there's no shortage of releases every season. However, among the dozens of new anime that air each year, it's difficult for a show to truly stand out. This is where having a unique and original concept becomes crucial in setting it apart from the rest. When a new anime comes out with a fresh and creative approach, it has great potential, but also carries a great risk.

The upcoming LINE sticker character anime is a prime example of this. While most anime tend to stick to tried-and-true formulas, such as romantic comedies, isekai adventures, and "chosen one" heroes, this new anime has the potential to be something entirely different.
