During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Tuesday, October 10, Mary Cosby brandished her fashion police badge and weighed in on Heather Gay's outfit from an episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. She was prompted to comment on Gay's style while participating in a game called "Versace or Hibachi?"
"I will be presenting different looks to you. If you like the look, say Versace. If you don't, say Hibachi," explained Cohen to his guests Cosby and Ziwe. After a few rounds, Cohen displayed a photo of Gay. "Mary, did Heather get it right with this Gucci top and chain necklace?"
"No," Cosby replied bluntly. "I don't think Gucci makes that," she continued, leading Cohen and Ziwe to inquire, "Do you think it's fake?" Mary confidently asserted, "Yes, I do. I have never seen a corset from Gucci in a size 14."
As Cohen grimaced in response, Cosby doubled down, saying, “That’s my opinion.”
Gay wasted no time in responding to Cosby's harsh remarks, leaving her reaction on a clip posted by @BravobyBetches on Instagram. "It's absolutely true. And it's absolutely amazing!" Gay commented on October 11, accompanied by a playful wink and tongue-out emoji. In the thread, Gay's supporters came to her defense, showering her with compliments like "You look fantastic!!" and "It's truly beautiful!"
In a season 4 teaser that was released in August, Cosby once again targeted Gay. When Gay asked Cosby if he thought she looked inbred, his response was a straightforward "yes." This comment sparked criticism from fans due to the fact that Gay had married her step-grandfather.
Cosby's return to the franchise was solidified by her consecutive statements, indicating her reappearance after her absence from the season 2 reunion where she left the show. In a Twitter Spaces chat in January 2022, she expressed her reasons for not attending the reunion, stating that it was one-sided and filled with lies, solely focusing on her perspective and not wanting to discuss the deceased individual in a four-part reunion.
Earlier this year, Gay confirmed Cosby's comeback while promoting her book, Bad Mormon, in response to an inquiry from an attendee about Mary's potential return. Heather enthusiastically nodded her head and affirmed, "Yes, she will be coming back."
