Halsey seems to be responding subtly to Taylor Swift's album, The Tortured Poets Department, which seems to feature songs about their shared ex, Matty Healy.

The 29-year-old singer posted a photo on Instagram Stories on Thursday, April 25, showing their boyfriend, Avan Jogia, shirtless and wearing gray sweatpants with the TTPD logo. Halsey captioned the post with a white heart emoji.

In 2015, Halsey was in a relationship with Healy, who is 35 years old. Meanwhile, Swift, who is 34, appeared to have an on-and-off romance with The 1975 singer. Fans have gathered this information from the lyrics of her recent songs.

Although Swift's relationship with Healy was most publicly seen in spring 2023, her fans have linked her song lyrics back to 2014 when they first met. Songs like "But Daddy I Love Him," "Down Bad," "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," "Guilty as Sin?," "The Tortured Poets Department," "Fortnight," and "Fresh Out the Slammer" are all believed to be about Healy.

Similarly, Halsey’s 2015 track “Colors” is also rumored to be about the British musician, so it’s no surprise that they feel a kinship with Swift.

In the aftermath of TTPD’s release, Healy was asked if he’s heard the album.

A reporter asked on Wednesday, April 24, "How would you rate your Taylor diss track compared to the 30 others?" according to a video obtained by Entertainment Tonight.

Healy responded, "My diss track?" Then the reporter clarified they were referencing TTPD. He added, "Oh, I haven’t really listened to that much of it but I’m sure it’s good."

A source informed Us that Healy felt relieved after TTPD's release.

The insider explained that Matty still holds Taylor in high regard, but there was anxiety about what she might have revealed on the album. He added that the singer's close friends are thrilled with Swift's album.

Healy's family had a similar response.

According to the same source, Matty's family was aware of the relationship. They were concerned that Taylor would hurt him emotionally. Matty has faced challenges with fame, but he has been handling it well. The last thing he needs is for Taylor Swift fans to view him in a negative light.

Denise Welch, who is Healy’s mom and a talk show host, avoided talking about Taylor Swift's new music when she was asked about it. During the episode of the ITV show Loose Women on Thursday, April 25, cohost Nadia Sawalha asked Denise, "Have you heard Taylor Swift's new album?"

“I wasn’t aware she had an album out at all, I haven’t heard anything about it,” Welch quipped. “Anyway, I wish her all the best.”
