The Canadian musician Grimes and Anyma have been acquainted for some time. Anyma was featured on Grimes’ single, “Welcome to the Opera,” released in June 2023. They performed a remix of the song at the 2024 Zamna Festival in Tulum, Mexico, organized by Anyma’s record company, Afterlife.
