Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts, previous stars of Golden Bachelor, are showing their support for Gerry Turner in his divorce from Theresa Nist. During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Jess Cagle Show” on Tuesday, May 28, Susan, 67, expressed, “I’ve gotta support this man a little bit. I feel like he got the wrong end of it,” with Kathy, 71, by her side.
Susan mentioned that Theresa, who is 70 years old, chose to stay put and continue working, much to the frustration of Gerry, aged 72. Gerry expressed his frustration by saying, “Who can blame him? I mean, I would’ve never said I would move to that place wherever that is in the middle of nowhere.”
At first, Kathy playfully teased Gerry for making a "huge mistake" by not selecting her or Susan.
Kathy mentioned that Gerry is a nice guy and Theresa is a lovely lady. She acknowledged that sometimes unexpected things happen, apologizing for it. Despite the unexpected events, Kathy expressed that they still appreciate both Gerry and Theresa. Getting to know someone for a short period of time, like a month or six weeks, can lead to unexpected situations.

Gerry Turner became the first Golden Bachelor star in September 2023. He proposed to Theresa in the season finale that aired in November of the same year. The couple tied the knot in a televised wedding on January 4. However, they announced their decision to split on Good Morning America last month, after just three months of marriage.
"I think they just got swept away in the moment. We saw them falling for each other," Susan shared. "They really connected that first night, on their date. It felt genuine."

Kathy noticed how strong Gerry and Theresa's connection was at the Bachelor Mansion. She believed that they would get engaged after just one night together.
Before their breakup, Gerry and Theresa experienced some drama offscreen. According to the Los Angeles Times, Gerry dated several women following the death of his first wife, Toni, in 2017. One of his exes accused him of fat-shaming, but Gerry denied the allegation. Theresa clarified on GMA in April that this incident did not contribute to their split.
During Tuesday's interview, Susan mentioned that everyone has a past and deserves a break. They also shared some light-hearted jokes about Indiana, where Gerry resides.
Kathy chimed in, agreeing with Susan and jokingly said that they were never going to be corn shuckers in Indiana. She also mentioned a comment from another contestant, Nancy Hulkower, who claimed that Gerry lives by a pond, not a lake.
Kathy and one of “The Jess Cagle Show” host joked, “Drag that lake,” before sharing their “love” for Gerry.
“We’re here for you,” Kathy said. “We are friends till the end.”
