April Lockwood expressed her sense of relief for not finding her ideal partner on The Golden Bachelor. In the latest episode of the "Viall Files" podcast on Thursday, November 2, the 65-year-old shared her thoughts, saying, "I'm glad he's not the one for me! He doesn't seem like my perfect match, someone I would envision being on a wedding cake with." April emphasized her desire to find her true love, stating, "I will know it instantly when I fall in love. There are certain qualities that draw me to someone, and if Gerry Turner possessed those qualities, I would have gone crazy in love."

April enthusiastically proclaimed that if she had any affection for Gerry, she would have jubilantly discarded her undergarments and joyfully danced around the Bachelor Mansion, disregarding others in her path.

April was one of the competitors endeavoring to win Gerry's affection on the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor. She quickly became known as the "eccentric" participant, captivating viewers with her lively personality. However, shortly after filming commenced, April realized that Gerry, who is 72 years old, had a markedly different lifestyle than her own. In a conversation with host Nick Viall on Thursday, April expressed that their interests created a discernible "age gap" between them. For example, April takes great pride in being a devoted fan of Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, whereas Gerry's musical preferences lean towards the timeless croonings of Dean Martin.

April acknowledged that Gerry appeared to be well-groomed and displayed manners of a perfect gentleman. However, she struggled to overlook the fact that he seemed to ignore her. As a result, she stated, "I wasn't particularly invested in our connection, so I wasn't concerned about the outcome. My intention here is to have a good time and give it a shot. If it clicks, that's great. If not, I'll move on without hesitation."

“During the podcast episode, April, a retired therapist, expressed that there were instances when Gerry and she would engage in conversation, but he would seem to disregard her completely. As a counselor, April emphasized that ignoring someone is the cruellest action one can inflict on another human being, and it deeply wounded her. She added that she would rather hear any negative opinion about herself, such as disliking her or considering her ignorant, sweet, or even harsh, rather than being ignored."

April described the feeling of Gerry consistently seeing through her essence, soul, and heart. This experience reinforced her determination to find love elsewhere. However, she made it clear that no matter the circumstances, she would never ignore anyone."

April expressed her disappointment when Gerry showed no reaction to her adding a bunny tail to her rose ceremony dress one evening. However, she now considers Gerry's lack of response as a hidden blessing.

"There was no action I could take at that moment. Nonetheless, this experience has ultimately strengthened me, as it has taught me to assertively acknowledge others and recognize their significance," she stated. "There is absolutely no justification for being unkind, aloof, impolite, or disregarding."

April shared with Nick that she is receiving numerous dating offers from nearly a thousand men in her direct messages. However, she mentioned that only one man fits her criteria. She playfully described him as attractive, good-looking, around her age, and well-traveled. April expressed her desire for love but emphasized the importance of it being a natural connection.

Gerry is left with three potential partners: Leslie Fhima, Faith Martin, and Theresa Nist. April mentioned her surprise when Gerry eliminated Ellen Goltzer before hometowns, jokingly suggesting that men occasionally have simplistic thinking. She also observed that regardless of age, men are driven by hormones.

The Golden Bachelor airs on ABC Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.
