Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner found love with Theresa Nist, and they’re gearing up to tie the knot — live on ABC.
Gerry told viewers that he and Theresa intended to marry soon following their engagement announcement on The Golden Bachelor live finale in November 2023. Host Jesse Palmer promptly announced that the televised wedding special would include all of Bachelor Nation.
Upon being crowned the Golden Bachelor, Gerry confessed that he was initially opposed to the idea of getting married again. (Gerry had been married to his high school sweetheart Toni for 47 years before her unexpected passing in 2017.)
But everything changed when he met Theresa.
"Before the show, I was dating and searching for the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, regardless of the label," Gerry shared exclusively with We. "As I got closer to the process of the show, I realized that I did want to be married. I wanted commitment, a two-way street. That became my objective as I got into the show."
With Theresa now wearing a ring, she and Gerry have begun planning their wedding in earnest. The couple is thankfully in agreement about their vision for the big day.
"When we share our thoughts, they align almost perfectly," Gerry shared with People in November 2023. "I have yet to come across any ideas that wouldn't fit. It's going to be a truly spectacular event."
The process of blending their families has been surprisingly smooth for Gerry and Theresa, particularly because their daughters have been actively involved in the wedding preparations. (Gerry has two daughters, Jenny and Angie, while Theresa has one, Jen.)
"My daughter is absolutely amazing," Theresa told People. "She has planned countless weddings and now she's putting together the vision board for ours. She constantly asks for my input and I'm blown away by her organizational skills. She's pretty much handling everything on her own."

Why Are Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist Getting Married So Fast?
Gerry admitted that their ages do play a major factor.
"We're getting older! Consider this: Waiting a year in your 20s may only be 3 percent of your future life," he explained on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast in November 2023. "But in your 70s, a year could be 10 or even 20 percent of the time you have left."
He also mentioned that they didn't want to delay something they truly believed was the right decision.
Do Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist Live Together?
The couple is gearing up to start their life together in Charleston, South Carolina.
“We are going to live in South Carolina just outside the Charleston area. He’s always had this thought for the last two years and no one really knew that,” Theresa said on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast. “It was all like, ‘Are you going to move to Indiana?’ But I wasn’t moving to Indiana and I have a son and a daughter and I live four minutes from my daughter and my three grandsons, and I have a son who lives in South Carolina.”

Who Will Be Invited to ‘The Golden Wedding’?
Theresa has begun inviting her friends to the wedding, in addition to their children and grandchildren. Jesse mentioned that the couple plans to invite some of their costars, including the "Golden women." There is also a possibility that Bachelor and Bachelorette alums will receive invites, as many former stars have attended past TV weddings, such as Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert's wedding in 2016.
