George Clooney Expresses Doubt on Reprising Batman Role Due to Lack of 'Enough Drugs In The World'

George Clooney dismisses the possibility of reprising the role of Batman, claiming there simply aren't enough drugs in the world The acclaimed director also reveals his unexpected cameo as Bruce Wayne in The Flash

Michael Keaton reprised his role as the Dark Knight in The Flash after many years, but George Clooney has no plans to do the same. While promoting The Boys in the Boat, he made it clear that he has no intention of wearing the iconic Batman suit with rubber nipples again. Speaking with ET, Clooney joked that he doesn't think there are "enough drugs in the world" to convince him to become Batman once more, acknowledging that there isn't a strong demand for him to play the superhero again.

The discussion about Batman started with a question regarding his surprise appearance as Bruce Wayne in The Flash. "Well, I thought there was such a clamor for me to come back as [Batman], as you know," he humorously remarked. Recently, Clooney also made light of his cameo in The Flash. The actor had previously only played the Dark Knight in 1997's Batman & Robin, which was heavily criticized and did not perform well at the box office.

However, Clooney seems much more enthusiastic about reprising his role in another Ocean's 11 movie, even mentioning that there's "a great script." Currently, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are set to star in a prequel for the film franchise, playing the parents of Clooney's character Danny Ocean.

Meanwhile, Clooney is the director behind the true story The Boys in the Boat, which is set to premiere in theaters on December 25.

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z fan, I can understand George Clooney's hesitation to reprise the role of Batman. The 1997 film "Batman & Robin" was not well-received by critics and audiences alike, and it's understandable that Clooney would be reluctant to revisit that experience. Additionally, Clooney is now 61 years old, and it's possible that he simply feels too old to play the role of Batman again. I think it's important to respect Clooney's decision and not pressure him into doing something he doesn't want to do.

On the other hand, I can't help but feel a little disappointed that we won't get to see Clooney as Batman again. He's a talented actor, and I think he could have brought something unique to the role. I also think it would have been interesting to see how he would have interacted with the other actors in the DC Extended Universe. Ultimately, I respect Clooney's decision, but I can't help but feel a little sad that we won't get to see him as Batman again.
