In the recent update of Genshin Impact, players have stumbled upon a witty nod to Donald Trump's memoir, The Art of the Deal. This inclusion is just one example of the game's tendency to feature real-life celebrities and personalities, like the amusingly named "Smoothface" Paccino.
The latest version, 4.1, has brought forth new characters, events, and locations to Genshin Impact. One of these locations is nestled in Liffey, a region within Fontaine that was introduced in the aforementioned update. Within Liffey lies the formidable Fortress of Meropide, an underwater prison that will play a pivotal role in Acts 3 and 4 of the Fontaine Archon quest. The expansive prison complex also houses the "Scenes from Life in Meropide" World Quest Series, consisting of a dozen quests, with one that not-so-subtly alludes to a former US president.
RollingRED shared on Reddit that they were surprised to find a reference to Trump in Genshin Impact. They attached a picture of a book called The Art of Negotiation, which can be purchased in the Fortress of Meropide. This book triggers a quest with the same title and contains a parody of Trump's memoir, The Art of the Deal. In another area called Fontaine, a document called Book Donation Statistics reveals that Jean Faustier, a former inmate of an underwater prison, donated The Art of Negotiation. The document describes it as a useful book, but a researcher's notes contradict this, stating that it is actually useless.
These facts, along with the book's connection to a prison and its availability for purchase, are either remarkable coincidences or intentional references to the 91 criminal charges faced by Trump. In addition to this Trump reference, Genshin Impact 4.1 introduces two new characters and bosses. The Millennial Pearl Seahorse is a World Boss that players must defeat in order to enhance Neuvillette, a Hydro character introduced alongside Wriothesley in Version 4.1.
Leaks for Genshin Impact Version 4.2 have already started to emerge, as is now customary. The upcoming update is expected to bring new Genius Invokation cards, limited login screen customization, and convenient access to weekly bosses after the conclusion of Version 4.1. However, players still have plenty to uncover and experience in the Liffey region, with four exciting events scheduled to take place over the next few weeks. Genshin Impact is currently playable on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Switch version currently in the works.
