The upcoming release of Genshin Impact's version 3.8 update marks the conclusion of the Sumeru region, and is expected to launch in the first week of July 2023. Along with new locations beyond the vast forests and deserts, the update promises exciting events and character banner reruns. Although the official Special Program stream for version 3.8 is yet to occur, the community has already begun speculating about its contents based on past trends and recent leaks. While players can expect some accuracy in these predictions, tuning in to the stream for official confirmations and Primogem rewards is still recommended.
The Characters, Events, and Weapons Coming in Genshin Impact’s Version 3.8 Update
In the upcoming version 3.8 update, existing characters will be rerun instead of introducing new ones. Along with character event wish banners, players can also expect a free 4-star character from one of the events, following the 3.7 update which gifted a weapon, the Ibis Piercer Bow. While the identity of the free character has not been confirmed, leaks suggest that it may be Cryo Sword user Layla. Additionally, fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Cryo Claymore user Eula in the event wish banners, as it has been a considerable amount of time since her last appearance in version 2.3 in late 2021, and she is known for her powerful elemental burst.
In the upcoming phase 1 event wish banners for the 3.8 update, players can expect to see Klee, a Pyro Catalyst user who is often featured in Genshin Impact's summer updates. Mika and Rosaria, both Cryo Polearm users, as well as Razor, an Electro Claymore user, are expected to be the 4-star characters in both of these banners. Moving on to phase 2, it is anticipated that players will have the chance to pull for Wanderer, an Anemo Catalyst user who was first introduced in the Sumeru series of updates, and Sangonomiya Kokomi, a Hydro Catalyst user who is relevant to the major event of the 3.8 update. The 4-star characters in the phase 2 banners are predicted to be Thoma, a Pyro Polearm user, Yanfei, a Pyro Catalyst user, and Faruzan, an Anemo Bow user.
Players of Genshin Impact can look forward to exciting new additions in the upcoming 3.8 update. One of the highlights is a special event that will transport players to an exclusive amusement park location, which will only be available for a limited time. More details about this event will be revealed in the 3.8 Special Program, along with information about the new map, quests, and Genius Invocation TCG changes. In addition, fans can expect to see new character outfits for Kaeya and Klee. The 5-Star weapons that will be available in the 3.8 update wish banners are expected to correspond with the character banners. The 3.8 Eptiome Invocation banners will feature the Song of Broken Pines Claymore and the Dodoco Tales Catalyst in phase 1, and the Everlasting Moonglow and Tulaytullah’s Remembrance Catalysts in phase 2.
Genshin Impact is now available on PC, Mobile, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
