A major bug that affected PlayStation console players in Genshin Impact Version 3.8 has been fixed. Developer HoYoverse occasionally alters their regular update schedule to address bugs, despite the game receiving monthly updates that introduce new characters and story content.
With the release of Genshin Impact Version 3.8 on July 5, the Veluriyam Mirage area and Secret Summer Paradise event were introduced. Players have the opportunity to explore Veluriyam Mirage, discover treasures, participate in mini-games, and complete limited-time quests before Version 4.0 is released. In addition, players can summon beloved characters like Klee and Eula before the new Fontaine characters take the spotlight in Version 4.0 later this summer. However, the recent update also introduced a bug that has affected the PlayStation versions for the past week.
The official Genshin Impact Twitter account has announced the release of a new update that addresses a major visual bug affecting the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game. Prior to the release of this update, players using HDR-enabled PlayStation consoles would encounter a black screen after the warning text appeared, rendering the game unplayable. To resolve this issue, HoYoverse promptly released the 3.8.1 update.
It is important to note that the 3.8.1 update is exclusive to the PS4 and PS5 versions, as these are the only ones affected by the HDR bug. However, some users have reported that certain bugs still persist even after installing the update. One of these persistent issues involves game crashes when attempting to switch accounts in Genshin Impact. Additionally, another issue prevents players from receiving Mora rewards in co-op mode from the "Capturing Light and Shadow" and "Returning Curios" world quests. These Mora rewards will be available in a future update, as the Veluriyam Mirage area will be inaccessible once Version 4.0 is launched.
While some issues still persist for Genshin Impact fans on PlayStation, the latest update has addressed one of the most urgent problems in the game. The HDR feature should now function properly on supported consoles and displays, and future updates for Genshin Impact are expected to tackle more bugs. Players who wish to do so can continue reporting bugs on the official social media channels for Genshin Impact, including HoYoLab and HoYoverse.
The release of Genshin Impact Version 4.0 is anticipated to take place this August, and HoYoverse will likely host a Special Program in the near future to provide details on the new content in the update. As usual, HoYoverse will release patch notes for each major update, enabling players to learn more about the latest bug fixes and features once the development team is prepared to share information with the community.
Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
