As we enter the final phase of Genshin Impact Version 3.8, players can participate in the remaining events and banners before the highly anticipated 4.0 update is released.

Genshin Impact Version 3.8, the final major update for the Sumeru region, was launched on July 5. The update introduces the limited-time Veluriyam Mirage area, which offers various mini-games and hidden treasure chests to explore. Additionally, players have the opportunity to summon popular characters such as Eula and Klee from reprised banners. Although no new characters are introduced in this version, players can still accumulate Primogems and summon their favorite characters before the arrival of Fontaine characters in Version 4.0.

A new blog post published by HoYoverse's HoYoLab provides details about the new "Perilous Expedition" event in Version 3.8 of Genshin Impact. Starting July 27, players can enter the Perilous Expedition domain and participate in "Perilous Exploration" combat trials. These trials consist of three rounds of combat where players must defeat multiple enemies to earn rewards. Before each round, players have the option to select different characters, and using a different party of characters in each round grants a buff stack. There are four difficulty levels to choose from, with the "Dire" difficulty offering the greatest challenge and the highest rewards. Players with high-level Spiral Abyss team compositions may find them helpful in completing trials on the Dire difficulty.

Rewards for completing the combat trials in the Perilous Expedition event in Genshin Impact include Primogems, Mora, Hero's Wit, and ascension materials. To take part in this new event, players must first finish the Song of the Dragon and Freedom Archon Quest in Mondstadt and reach Adventure Rank 20. The event will continue until August 7, providing Genshin Impact players with only 10 days to complete the combat trials and claim their rewards.

Genshin Impact players can get a head start on the upcoming Fontaine banners in Version 4.0 by completing trials in the new Perilous Expedition event. As the activities in Sumeru wind down during the second phase of Version 3.8, this presents one of the final opportunities for players to participate in a limited-time Sumeru event before HoYoverse shifts its focus to Fontaine.

The release of Genshin Impact Version 4.0 is expected in mid-August 2023, and players can anticipate a Special Program live stream that will provide more details about the new update's content.
