Neuvillette, a popular Hydro catalyst character in Genshin Impact, generated over $3 million in revenue on his first day banner release.
A Genshin Impact player successfully transformed Neuvillette into the beloved Pokemon Squirtle through a mod, much to the delight of fans.
Within the game's mainline story, players continue to ponder over the unconfirmed theory regarding Neuvillette's real identity as the Hydro dragon.
Neuvillette, a character from the popular game Genshin Impact, has gained popularity after being transformed into a beloved Pokemon by a modder. Originally introduced in late September as a five-star banner Hydro catalyst character named Fontaine's Chief of Justice, Neuvillette, or Hu Tao, has already generated over $3 million in revenue on its first day.
In the recently released version 4.0 of Genshin Impact, Fontaine is revealed as one of the seven regions in the game's fictional world of Teyvat. This region is dedicated to worshiping the Hydro Archon Focalors, also known as Lady Furina. As players explore the nation of Fontaine, they encounter a variety of intriguing characters, including the formidable Neuvillette. Serving as a key figure within the Court of Fontaine, Neuvillette collaborates closely with Furina to administer justice to those who have committed crimes. Despite his imposing demeanor, Neuvillette has garnered significant anticipation from players, becoming one of the most highly anticipated characters in the Fontaine storyline.
After Neuvillette was released, a Genshin Impact player created a mod that transformed the character into the lovable Gen 1 starter Pokemon, Squirtle. The video, initially posted on Bilibili and shared on Twitter by GenshinUniverse, showcased Squirtle using Neuvillette's Hydro attacks to defeat Slimes and Hilichurls. According to the video's description on Bilibili, the player utilized Squirtle's Pokemon X and Y model and used software like Blender and Adobe Photoshop to seamlessly integrate it into the game.
The Squirtle mod brought amusement to many Genshin Impact fans, particularly due to the fact that it replicated Neuvillette's abilities, including his Ultimate. One player playfully suggested that Squirtle was the one responsible for slaying the Fontaine dragon. Interestingly, some players also speculate that Neuvillette's true form might be the Hydro dragon, based on the glowing horns on his head and the blue eye on his palm. However, this theory has yet to be confirmed in the game's main storyline, and it may be some time before it receives further attention.
Genshin Impact is currently in version 4.1, which introduced new chapters to the Fontaine Archon Quest along with other significant World Quests. Aside from Neuvillette and Hu Tao, the banner in the initial phase of 4.1 also showcases four-star characters Diona, Fischl, and Xingqiu. It can be said that Genshin Impact fans have a substantial amount of content to explore in the Fontaine arc thus far, with more to come in future updates.
In the meantime, those who successfully obtained Neuvillette have been actively developing and raising his power as a valuable damage dealer for their teams. They also need to ensure that they are utilizing Neuvillette's Charged Attack and other abilities correctly to avoid any mistakes.
Genshin Impact is out now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version also in development.
