Before the release of version 4.1 in Genshin Impact, numerous players expressed their desire for a Cryo Vision Catalyst character. However, despite the introduction of Wriothesley, the master of the Fortress of Meropide, who wields this powerful weapon to bolster his abilities, he primarily relies on his fists to inflict damage during combat.
Wriothesley heavily relies on Normal Attack for dealing damage, while his survival on the battlefield is ensured through the use of Charged Attack. Below are some of the top weapons in Genshin Impact that players can consider equipping on Wriothesley if they have obtained him from his limited banner.
8 Ballad of the Boundless Blue
Primary Stat
565 Base ATK
Secondary Stat
30.6% Energy Recharge
R5 Effect
Upon hitting an opponent with a Normal or Charged Attack, the damage inflicted by Normal Attacks will be enhanced by 16% and Charged Attacks by 12%. This effect can stack up to a maximum of 3 times and can be triggered again after a 0.3 second interval.
Ballad of the Boundless Blue is a Catalyst obtainable for free during the Genshin Impact 4.1 Waterborne Poetry Event. In addition to boosting Normal and Charged Attack damage, it also has a beneficial sub-stat of Energy Recharge. This makes it particularly useful for Wriothesley, whose Elemental Burst deals considerable damage.
7 Frostbearer
Primary Stat
510 Base ATK
Secondary Stat
41.3% ATK
R5 Effect:
Each time you strike an adversary with both Normal and Charged Attacks, there is a guaranteed 100% possibility of generating and releasing an Everfrost Icicle directly above them. This icicle inflicts area-of-effect damage, equivalent to 140% of your Attack (ATK). However, if the opponents are under the Cryo effect, they will suffer damage totaling 360% of ATK instead. This occurrence can only take place once every 10 seconds.
The Frostbearer has been around for a similar length of time as Genshin Impact, but it was overlooked because no Catalyst character could wield it. With the introduction of a Cryo Catalyst, this customizable weapon in Genshin Impact can now be utilized. However, there are a few factors to take into account before obtaining this weapon for the prison warden. One important consideration is that the R5 Frostbearer performs less effectively in single-target scenarios compared to the R5 Ballad of the Boundless Blue.
Frostbearer's effectiveness surpasses that of Eye of Perception and Tulaytullah's Remembrance at R5 when its passive is triggered by a minimum of 4 enemies.
Therefore, the Catalyst's performance improves as the number of enemies within the area of effect increases, specifically when the Everfrost Icicle descends. Consequently, Wriothesley should opt for Frostbearer solely when facing a large group of enemies, preferably when accompanied by Crowd Control to consolidate their presence.
6 Eye of Perception
Primary Stat
454 Base ATK
Secondary Stat
55.1% ATK
R5 Effect:
Normal and Charged Attacks possess a 50% probability of unleashing a Bolt of Perception, inflicting 360% ATK as damage. The bolt retains the ability to rebound between adversaries up to four times. This effect can manifest once every 8 seconds.
The Eye of Perception is particularly effective for Wriothesley when facing a group of enemies. Similar to the Frostbearer, when Wriothesley is equipped with the R5 Eye of Perception and battles a horde of monsters, his damage output can surpass that of Tulaytullah's Remembrance, but it will still be lower than that of the Cashflow Supervision. Unlike the Frostbearer, however, the damage inflicted by the Eye of Perception can bounce to enemies located outside the initial area of effect, making it slightly more dependable.
However, in situations where there is a single target, the R5 Eye of Perception performs less impressively compared to other choices such as the R5 Ballad of the Boundless Blue. Therefore, players should only opt for this Catalyst when engaging with a group of enemies.
5 Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds
Primary Stat
608 Base ATK
Secondary Stat
33.1% Crit Rate
R1 Effect
Increases Movement SPD by 10%. When in battle, gain an 8% Elemental DMG Bonus every 4s. Max 4 stacks. Lasts until the character falls or leaves combat.
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is often disregarded because its passive ability requires the wielder to remain in the field. However, since Wriothesley fulfills this requirement, he can utilize this Catalyst effectively.
In comparison to weapons that increase ATK but are hindered by ATK buffers in the team, Lost Prayer does not encounter this issue and can outperform Memory of Dust and Skyward Atlas in such scenarios. Nevertheless, even with Wriothesley, the Crit Rate sub-stat might become excessive, so players should prioritize obtaining Crit DMG on their Artifacts if they intend to use this Catalyst.
4 Memory of Dust
Primary Stat
608 Base ATK
Secondary Stat
49.6% ATK
R1 Enhancement:
Enhances Shield Strength by 20%. Landing successful attacks on enemies boosts ATK by 4% for a duration of 8 seconds. Maximum of 5 stacks can be accumulated. This effect can only occur once every 0.3s. Additionally, when protected by a shield, the ATK increase effect is magnified by 100%.
3 Skyward Atlas
Wriothesley can greatly benefit from Memory of Dust, as it is a weapon that is highly effective in specific situations and requires careful buildup. However, it is important to consider that excessive ATK may result in diminishing returns if players choose to include ATK buffers like Bennett in their team.
Primary Stat
674 Base ATK
Secondary Stat
33.1% ATK
R1 Effect
The Skyward Atlas offers a 12% increase in Elemental DMG Bonus. Additionally, there is a 50% chance for normal attacks to gain the favor of the clouds, which will actively target nearby opponents for 15 seconds, dealing 160% of ATK DMG. This effect can only occur once every 30 seconds. Comparatively, the Skyward Atlas is slightly superior to the Memory of Dust due to its passive Elemental DMG Bonus and the occasional damage it provides. However, like the Memory of Dust, this Catalyst may experience diminishing returns when combined with other sources of ATK.
2 Tulaytullah's Remembrance
Primary Stat
674 Base ATK
Secondary Stat
44.1% Crit DMG
R1 Effect
Increases Normal Attack SPD by 10%. After using an Elemental Skill, Normal Attack DMG will gradually increase by 4.8% every second for 14s. Each Normal Attack hit during this time will further increase Normal Attack DMG by 9.6%. This boost can occur once every 0.3s. The maximum increase in Normal Attack DMG within a single duration of the overall effect is 48%. Exiting the field or using the Elemental Skill again will remove all DMG buffs.
1 Cashflow Supervision
Tulaytullah's Remembrance is a formidable weapon for Wriothesley, the Wanderer's preferred character in Genshin Impact. With its high base ATK and Crit DMG boost, it greatly enhances his combat prowess. The weapon's added benefit of increasing Normal Attack SPD is particularly advantageous for Wriothesley, who heavily relies on fast and precise Normal Attacks. Furthermore, Wriothesley's Elemental Skill enhances his Normal Attack DMG, making the weapon's next passive ability a perfect fit for his playstyle.
Primary Stat
674 Base ATK
Secondary Stat
22.1% Crit Rate
R1 Effect
Cashflow Supervision offers a significant increase of 16% to ATK. Additionally, when the wielder's current HP either increases or decreases, there is a corresponding boost of 16% to Normal Attack DMG and 14% to Charged Attack DMG, lasting for 4 seconds. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3 seconds, allowing for a maximum of 3 stacks. Once the wielder has 3 stacks, their ATK SPD will be increased by 8%.
In terms of its comparison to Tulaytullah's Remembrance, Cashflow Supervision boasts a high base ATK but differs in having a Crit Rate sub-stat rather than Crit DMG. Equipping this Catalyst enables Wriothesley to enjoy a Crit Rate of 27.1% as a basic stat. As a result, players only need to seek a minimal increase in Crit Rate from Artifact sub-stats, especially when utilizing a four-piece Blizzard Strayer or four-piece Marechaussee Hunter set.
