In late November, the arrival of version 4.2 in Genshin Impact will bring a weekly boss with a complete model and gameplay. These challenging enemies, such as Ruin Guards, Oceanids, and Armored Crabs, offer unique concepts and difficulty levels. While not as tough as world bosses, defeating these weekly bosses without a well-rounded team proves to be quite a challenge. Players can tackle these bosses once a week and reap the rewards they offer.
Rumors have been circulating about Childe's mysterious whale, speculating that it may be the next weekly boss in version 4.2. This leaked concept and its connection to Genshin Impact's storyline point to this creature playing a significant role within the game. Some players speculate that this mythical creature is the same one that Childe encountered in his Abyssal dreams. With the Fontaine region lacking a weekly boss, version 4.2 is expected to introduce one in late November. More information about the lore surrounding this leaked whale boss will be revealed at a later date, leaving players eagerly anticipating its arrival.
A complete model and gameplay for the version 4.2 boss in Genshin Impact has been unveiled through new leaks from himo_sino and mero. These leaks provide players with insights into the boss's attack patterns, showcasing its impressive size, a prominent protrusion on its head, and four fins resembling those of a real whale. Moreover, the boss possesses distinctive physical traits, such as a small hump on its back and thorn-like limbs scattered across its body. This magnificent creature utilizes its fluke to launch itself out of the water, delivering headbutts to players, and even enters an interdimensional portal to execute its subsequent assault. Notably, its mouth can stretch wide enough to engulf the entire screen, creating a captivating effect reminiscent of a devouring black hole.
According to the leak, players will need to pay attention and strategize in order to defeat this whale, similar to other weekly bosses in Genshin Impact. It has been revealed that Ptakhur, previously leaked as a new elite enemy, is actually a humanoid phase of Childe's whale. Players will have to defeat this mysterious creature, who wields a Greatsword and can teleport during combat, in order to emerge victorious.
In addition, version 4.2 of Genshin Impact will introduce new elemental enemies in the Spiral Abyss, such as Rifthounds and Abyss Mages. The second half of this version will also feature the Matrix boss of Sumeru on Floor 12, providing players with a fresh challenge. More information regarding the upcoming enemies will likely become available online soon.
Genshin Impact is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
