Version 4.0 of Genshin Impact will grant players the long-awaited opportunity to explore the new major region called Fontaine. Within this region lies the domain of the Hydro Archon, suggesting that water will have a significant impact on the nation's overall aesthetic and gameplay.

Genshin Impact's official Twitter account has confirmed the release date for the upcoming Special Program event in update 4.0. The event will be livestreamed on August 4 at 07:30 AM (UTC-4), starting 30 minutes earlier than usual. Many players speculate that this special program will be longer than previous ones due to the introduction of a new region. After several filler updates, players are excited to see the game's main storyline progress. A teaser has already revealed potential new characters that may join the playable roster in the future. One of these characters could be Arlecchino, the well-known Harbinger and current main villain in the Fontaine arc. Regarding the characters joining the roster in Fontaine's first update, HoYoverse has confirmed three playable units: Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. However, their banner placements have not been officially announced.

Lyney and Lynette, siblings who work as magicians for the iconic Fontaine Opera House in the Hydro nation, have been confirmed in the official bio. Fans are particularly excited to see the appearances of Arlecchino and the Hydro Archon Focalors, who have also been featured in Fontaine's promotional videos.

In addition to these character reveals, teasers have hinted at an exciting new diving mechanic that will be introduced to Genshin Impact, possibly in update 4.0. This innovative feature will enable players to explore the depths of the underwater world and encounter thrilling creatures.
