The latest update for Call of Duty: Warzone will introduce new content, including an expansion to the popular Vondel battle royale map. According to an official blog post from Call of Duty, the upcoming Reloaded update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone will add a large Gulag area beneath the castle on the Vondel map.
Both Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 are currently in Season 4, which has been ongoing since June 14. Season 4 has already seen several significant additions to Modern Warfare 2, and now the Reloaded update, set to launch on Wednesday, July 12, will bring another major content release. The focal point of Season 4 Reloaded is a crossover event with the acclaimed TV series The Boys, along with various new content related to the crossover.
Among the exciting additions in the Reloaded update is the introduction of a brand new section on the Vondel map. This area will serve as a Gulag within the game environment of Call of Duty: Warzone. Gulags act as self-contained battle arenas where players, who have already been eliminated in a particular round, can face off against each other one on one for a chance to re-enter the ongoing match. Enhancing the mysteries of Vondel, the newly created Gulag will be situated beneath the imposing castle, nestled in an abandoned wine cellar. This hidden location promises to provide players with yet another intriguing space to explore during their gameplay adventures.
Gulags are a distinct and notable feature in the realm of battle royale games, often touted as one of the key selling points of Warzone. However, whenever an expansion or modification is made to these Gulags, they have a tendency to introduce glitches and exploits into the game. It remains to be seen whether the newly introduced Vondel Gulag will encounter similar issues upon its release.
The recently released Season 4 Reloaded update brings forth a plethora of exhilarating content that is bound to delight players, particularly those who are fans of The Boys. Although the new Gulag is not directly tied to the crossover event at the heart of this update, it is sure to inject an element of excitement into future battle royale matches on the Vondel map. While unforeseen bugs or glitches may arise from this new content, similar to past occurrences with Call of Duty updates, fans will most likely still be able to enjoy the update.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
