Genshin Impact has a new leak that hints at a significant quality-of-life improvement for the game's weekly bosses. This change will allow players to challenge the bosses without completing their story first. Since its initial launch, the roster of characters in the HoYoverse RPG has grown substantially, now featuring over 70 playable characters. Leveling up these characters requires various materials, including plants, ores, and specific loot from enemies. To make character leveling easier for new players, HoYoverse is planning to implement this new feature.
For new players in Genshin Impact, acquiring the necessary materials to level up their characters has always been a significant challenge. Each character requires a range of materials, including regional items and drops from enemies, to level up and ascend. Weekly bosses, in particular, pose a difficulty for players as they are necessary for high-level Talents but locked behind story progression. However, Version 4.2 will introduce a change that allows players to battle these weekly bosses before reaching that point in the story.
A recent leak from Genshin Impact's HoneyHunter datamines has unveiled an exciting new feature called "Quick Challenge" for weekly bosses. Once players reach Adventure Rank 40, they will have the ability to effortlessly take on any of the game's weekly bosses by simply pressing a button. Gone are the days of having to complete the story chapter associated with these formidable adversaries. This means that players can now level up their newest characters more efficiently and effortlessly. Prepare for this highly anticipated feature to make its debut in Genshin Impact's Version 4.2 update, which is scheduled for an early November release.
The upcoming Version 4.2 of the game will not only include a useful quality of life feature but also bring several other significant updates. One of these updates involves the introduction of a new weekly boss, coinciding with the release of the Hydro Archon Furina. Rumors suggest that Version 4.2 will also expand the Fontaine region to the east and include a new port town in the expansion. Additionally, the update will allow players to play as Charlotte, the first revealed character from Fontaine, who will be released as a four-star unit alongside Furina.
Furthermore, Genshin Impact's future updates, including Version 4.1, will prioritize quality of life improvements. In Version 4.1, HoYoverse will unveil the game's revamped Daily Commission system through its Special Program. This new system will offer alternative methods of earning daily Primogem rewards. This update follows the successful implementation of a similar system in Honkai: Star Rail, where players can complete daily tasks, including combat and exploration challenges, as well as a Daily Mission. These new systems aim to make Genshin Impact's gameplay loop more streamlined, catering to both new players and seasoned veterans.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
