FTR Returns in Epic AEW Fight Forever DLC Pack - Unleashing Unprecedented Thrills!

AEW Fight Forever unveils the highly-anticipated FTR Revival DLC pack, introducing the legendary tag team champions Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler Experience the thrill of playing as the ten-time champions in this exciting expansion for the game

One major absence in AEW Fight Forever's roster has been the tag team FTR. However, the first DLC pack aims to address this as THQ Nordic and Yuke's offer a closer look at the duo within the game. The initial roster includes several popular tag teams from the young wrestling promotion, such as the Young Bucks and Lucha Bros, who have been part of the company since its inception in 2019. On the other hand, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have been key players since joining AEW in 2020 and are now included in the new game.

AEW Fight Forever marks the debut video game from the promotion that has been around for almost five years. Developer Yuke's, known for their work with WWE, ventures outside the WWE franchise for the first time since 2007. According to AEW star Kenny Omega, the game aims to capture the essence of classic wrestling games from the 90s, like WWF No Mercy and WCW/nWo Revenge, which offered an arcade-style experience compared to the more realistic approach of recent WWE 2K releases. The game features a career mode called "Road to Elite," character and arena creation tools, a wide selection of weapons, and noteworthy match types, including Stadium Stampede and the Exploding Barbed-Wire Deathmatch.

The game's initial roster at launch featured a star-studded lineup of 48 wrestlers, including current stars, legends, and even the former member of AEW, Cody Rhodes. Additionally, players who pre-ordered the game could access Matt Hardy as a bonus character, and there are plans to add six more wrestlers through DLC packs. FTR is expected to be the first addition, and a new spotlight trailer allows players to get a closer look at the duo in action. The trailer showcases their signature moves, including the Shatter Machine finisher, and confirms that the pack is already available for download.

Before the game's launch, the absence of FTR from the initial roster was one of the notable omissions from AEW's extensive lineup of wrestlers. In some cases, this was due to wrestlers joining the company late in the game's production cycle, and there was insufficient time for Yuke's to include them. However, some absences, like FTR, were likely intentional to be included in the initial set of DLC packs. The upcoming DLC packs will feature Keith Lee, The Bunny, Hook, and Danhausen.

It is yet to be determined who else will be added to the game's roster once all three initial DLC packs are released, considering the extensive roster that AEW has. Notable names like Swerve Strickland, Buddy Matthews, Rush, Taya Valkyrie, and Athena, who are missing from the launch roster, could potentially be included in the game in the future.

AEW Fight Forever can currently be played on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
