On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Shogakukan announced the listing of a novel adaptation based on Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s manga series, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. The novel, titled Soso no Frieren Zenso, is set to be released in Japan on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Mei Hachimoku, known for works such as The Mimosa Confessions and The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye light novels, has been chosen to write the adaptation.
This novel will act as a prequel to the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga series, consisting of five short stories that were not featured in the original manga. The stories will revolve around characters such as Frieren, Stark, Lawine, Kanne, and Aura. The narrative will focus on Frieren's journey before setting out to "get to know people."
