Francia Raisa has clarified her current relationship with Selena Gomez following rumors of a rift between the two friends.
The 35-year-old actress dismissed any feud speculation the day after receiving a birthday message from Gomez, 31. "There is no animosity, everyone," Raisa assured TMZ on Thursday, July 27th.
Raisa expressed her readiness to move forward when asked about Gomez's birthday tribute. She expressed her appreciation for the numerous birthday messages she received and acknowledged that it's a new year. Gomez surprised fans by posting a carousel of Instagram photos dedicated to Raisa, expressing her love and well wishes for her. The post included three pictures of the pair happily together.
Raisa extended an olive branch on social media by re-following Gomez. To commemorate her own birthday, she posted a photo of herself in a vibrant orange swimsuit, standing in front of balloons that spelled out "Happy Birthday." In the caption, she playfully remarked, "If I'm not in a bikini on my birthday, then it's not my birthday!"
Raisa and Gomez's friendship commenced in 2007. After ten years, Raisa selflessly donated her kidney to her best friend who was battling lupus. Gomez expressed her immense gratitude to Raisa through an Instagram post in September 2017, stating, "There are no words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She bestowed upon me the ultimate gift and made a tremendous sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly fortunate. I love you dearly, sis."
Just two months later, while accepting the Billboard Music of the Year Award, Gomez showered praise on her friend and exclaimed to the audience that Raisa had saved her life.

There were speculations among fans about a potential issue in the friendship between the two when Gomez stated in a November 2022 interview with Rolling Stone that Taylor Swift is her "sole friend in the industry," without mentioning Raisa by name. Raisa appeared to address the comment on her Instagram Story with a brief message that said "Interesting."
Gomez addressed rumors about her friendship breakup with Raisa on TikTok, saying, "I apologize for not acknowledging every person I know," in response to a fan's post. While they remained mostly silent about their alleged feud, Gomez later mentioned Raisa in her episode of the docuseries Dear… on Apple TV+, where she discussed her mental health.
In the aired episode of March, she expressed, "Francia is the person to whom I owe the greatest debt, without a doubt. The fact that she didn't even hesitate to be a donor was incredibly overwhelming."
