Fortnite's Shocking Move: Popular Weapon Vaulted Just Weeks After Its Release!

Fortnite's v2511 update receives a quick hotfix, surprising players as a beloved weapon is abruptly vaulted from the battle royale, causing a wave of speculation and excitement in the gaming community

Fortnite has decided to remove one of its popular weapons, the Kinetic Boomerang, just a few weeks after its introduction this season. This change is part of the v25.11 update's hotfix, which swaps out the Kinetic Boomerang for a classic weapon that has undergone significant improvements.

The Kinetic Boomerang made its debut in Chapter 4 Season 3 of Fortnite's Battle Royale mode. It proved to be a formidable weapon, dealing 60 damage to players and 100 damage to structures. Its unique feature, derived from its Kinetic Ore properties, enabled players to recall the boomerang while it was in mid-flight, causing an explosion upon its return. Additionally, the Kinetic Boomerang had the ability to bounce off specific surfaces, allowing for impressive trick shots.

Fortnite's official service Twitter account broke the news that the Kinetic Boomerang is being vaulted. The reason for this is reportedly due to a persistent problem where players "lose control" after being rebooted. Official Fortnite accounts have not provided further explanation, leading to confusion among fans who commented on the tweet. A similar fate befell the popular Kinetic Blade, a kinetic weapon from Chapter 4 Season 2, though it was likely removed due to an exploit rather than a technical issue.

The vaulting is expected to be temporary, so players may see the Kinetic Boomerang make a return in the near future. However, even though Fortnite has taken away a new item, it has also introduced a new version of an old favorite: the Pump Shotgun. The Sharp Tooth Shotgun, announced in the same tweet, confirms the leaked major change made to the returning Pump Shotgun. The new Sharp Tooth Shotgun boasts a tighter spread and longer range compared to its previous version, dealing a maximum of 160 damage at Legendary rarity.

The introduction of Fortnite's latest addition, the Sharp Tooth Shotgun, follows the arrival of the Explosive Repeater Rifle as the replacement for the Heavy Sniper Rifle. Similar to its predecessor, the new rifle uses heavy bullets and can inflict 40 points of damage upon impact, followed by an additional 40 points from the explosion. Although it may not match the Heavy Sniper's range, the added explosive damage to both players and structures enhances its versatility. Given the unstable nature of Fortnite's kinetic weapons, it will be intriguing to observe their future implementation.

Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
