Fortnite is collaborating with the Terminator franchise, introducing an Arnold Schwarzenegger skin and potentially other content.
Currently in its third season of Chapter 4, the game is encountering matchmaking and sign-in problems, affecting the players' experience. Having previously collaborated with Fortnite, Terminator, the potential additional content for this collaboration is still unknown.
Fortnite is collaborating once again, this time with the iconic sci-fi Terminator franchise, to introduce an Arnold Schwarzenegger skin. The upcoming collaboration will include the renowned Model 101/T-800 character, but the other elements of this crossover are yet to be disclosed.
Amidst the ongoing third season of Chapter 4, titled "Wilds," Epic Games' highly popular battle royale game witnessed the central region of the current island collapsing, unveiling a hidden ancient jungle filled with secrets. Despite its continued popularity, Fortnite has been grappling with matchmaking and sign-in issues, which have garnered complaints from many players. The developers are actively working to address these problems. However, in the meantime, the game is introducing futuristic content to keep the players engaged.
News of Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic character entering Fortnite surfaced after being discovered by credible dataminers like Shiina. A screenshot of the skin was allegedly included in the findings. Soon after, Fortnite's official Twitter account confirmed the discovery by sharing an image of the forthcoming skin accompanied by a cryptic caption, "The unknown future rolls towards us." The image showcases the Model 101 in a dimly-lit setting, accentuated by ember-like lights in the background. One distinguishable red eye suggests that at least one version of the skin will showcase battle damage.
Fortnite's recent announcement of yet another crossover collaboration follows closely behind the Fortnite and Futurama collaboration, which introduced characters such as Fry, Leela, and Bender to the game's island. Although it has only been a few days since its launch, the collaboration already includes complete cosmetic sets for each character mentioned above, along with a Planet Express Glider and Zoidberg Scuttle Emote. Additionally, Bender's Shiny Metal Raygun has been introduced as a new weapon, at least until Fortnite's v25.30 update. This update may potentially introduce Terminator-themed content to the game as well.
The two franchises have collaborated before, with the first Fortnite and Terminator crossover happening in early 2021. This brought characters like the T-800 and Sarah Connor into the game. In the introductory trailer, Fortnite's Jonesy teleported into a scene from Terminator 2: Judgement Day to rescue the Terminator. The addition of the new Terminator skin could add an interesting storyline, or it could simply be a cosmetic item in the item shop. Given Fortnite's previous collaboration with Terminator, it will be interesting to see if any new content is added to the game. It is likely that players will have the opportunity to obtain a paid skin, but there will also be a chance to get a free one called the Galaxy Crossfade skin by participating in Fortnite's Galaxy Cup 4.
Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
