The Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner isn’t focused on his ex speaking out about the ups and downs of their nearly three-year relationship.
When asked about the recent report on his previous relationships, Turner responded, "I have so many positive things in my life right now. I have the wonderful love of Theresa, my partner. I don't have time to reflect on comments like this. I'm happy to look forward."Following his wife's death in 2017, Turner dated several women. According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of them, referred to as Carolyn, claimed that Turner fat-shamed her before attending his high school reunion together.
Carolyn claimed that Turner had said, "I'm not taking you to the reunion looking like that," in reference to her recent weight gain. This comment ultimately led to their breakup in January 2020. Following the split, Turner asked Carolyn to leave his Indiana lake house. During the packing process, Carolyn fell down the stairs and had to go to the ER. Turner suspected this was an excuse to delay her move and sue him for the injury, prompting him to ask her to leave the property one week earlier than planned and stay in a hotel.
"I really wish this could have worked out," Carolyn said Turner told her as he assisted her to her car with her walker. "Call me when you arrive at your hotel so I know you made it safely."
Carolyn, who is 14 years younger than Turner, met the Bachelor Nation star while working at the Vera French Mental Health Center in Iowa, and she claimed they started dating one month after Toni's death. Their relationship contradicts Turner's statements on The Golden Bachelor that his love life had been on hold since his wife's passing.
"I'm horrified by the thought of dating a man who has recently lost his spouse," she confided to the media. "I didn't even notice it at first. It wasn't until I looked back at our text messages that I realized how quickly Gerry's messages turned flirtatious."
She also claimed that Turner had used the same affectionate remarks with his Golden Bachelor contestants that he had previously used with her. Carolyn also accused him of lying about not having been kissed in six years. "I couldn't believe it," she said. "He must know that people are watching this show. I'm just shocked."
