Jesse James is facing a lawsuit from a former employee who alleges that she was injured by his dogs. According to court documents obtained by We, James' ex-personal assistant Karen Sanchez-Roberts stated that the dogs started attacking each other in April 2023.

During the attack, Sanchez-Roberts tried to break up the dogs to prevent them from harming each other. Unfortunately, as she separated them, she was bitten on her right hand without any provocation.

After the incident, Sanchez-Roberts was bleeding heavily and had to be taken to a nearby clinic. At the clinic, she was diagnosed with a fracture and had to get stitches.

Sanchez-Roberts accused James of not having workers' compensation insurance. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff sustained serious, disabling, and lasting injuries that needed surgery.

Sanchez-Roberts claimed that James, age 55, was aware that his dogs were prone to being aggressive and hostile towards others. Despite this knowledge, he did not do anything to address the issue before the incident occurred.

Sanchez-Roberts claimed that James was negligent in handling animals, not restraining the dogs, not taking steps to prevent the attack, and not acting like a responsible dog owner. She also accused him of not providing a safe workplace.

She stated that James knew the animals were vicious and could have kept them away from others and the premises to prevent danger. However, he failed to do so.

The docs also mentioned that the dogs were described as being “more aggressive” towards people than what is usually seen in their breed. James, who owns five dogs at his home in Austin, Texas, where Sanchez-Roberts worked as his personal assistant for his businesses, such as West Coast Choppers, founded by James.

Sanchez-Roberts is looking to receive financial compensation for her medical bills, physical pain, mental distress, physical limitations, disfigurement, and loss of income.

James has denied “each and every” one of her claims in docs obtained by Us.

We has reached out to James’ legal team for comment.

James’ dogs have been in the news before for their actions. Back in 2011, it was reported by TMZ that James’ pit bull got into a scuffle with a corgi. The corgi had to be quickly taken to a vet, prompting a witness to call 911.

According to the news outlet, the corgi needed stitches and a drainage tube in its neck to avoid infection. James was said to have paid $250 to help with the corgi’s medical expenses.
