Shakira and Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler are gradually progressing in their relationship by going on dates. According to an exclusive source, they have been out a few times. However, it is still early to determine if there is a possibility for a long-term connection. Despite their 13-year age gap, the age difference does not concern Shakira, who is 46.

According to the source, Shakira appears to have a positive connection with Jimmy, as he brings a smile to her face and they enjoy their time together.

Although Shakira's children have been admirers of the athlete for a while now, as she shares two sons with her ex Gerard Piqué, her relationship with Butler is relatively new. They have recently started following each other on social media. In May, Shakira posted a video of herself supporting the Miami Heat at a game, which caught Butler's attention as he liked a video of her acoustic performance on Instagram.

Shakira has been open about the difficulties she has faced since the split, particularly regarding Piqué's new romance. She subtly addressed her ex and Chía's relationship on her track "BZRP Music Session #53," a collaboration with DJ Bizarrap, released in January.

Later on, Shakira disclosed the painful truth of being "betrayed" by her former partner during her father's hospitalization.

"He traveled to Barcelona to offer his support after I was overwhelmed with sorrow due to my separation," she revealed to People en Español in June. "However, during his attendance at my son Milan's inaugural communion, he suffered a severe injury in an accident. It was a simultaneous wave of challenges. My personal life was crumbling, and I discovered through the media that I had been betrayed while my father fought for his life in the intensive care unit."
