Former Bachelorette Michelle Young's Unexpected Kiss with a Mystery Man: What Really Happened After Nayte Olukoya Split

Michelle Young, 30, was seen showing affection with a new man at the NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings. In an Instagram Stories selfie posted on Sunday, October 9, Young can be seen smiling as a man with a purple Vikings hat plants a kiss on her cheek.

The Bachelorette alum appears to have entered into a new relationship more than one year after her split from Nayte Olukoya in June 2022.

Olukoya, 29, proposed to Young during the season 18 finale of The Bachelorette, which aired in December 2021. Young revealed during the After the Final Rose special that they grew closer after the show, but they eventually ended their relationship several months later.

"To all those who have shown their support for both Nayte and me, including Bachelor Nation, I want to express that having a relationship in the public eye has been challenging," Young revealed in a June 2022 Instagram Stories post. "It is difficult for me to convey that Nayte and I have decided to part ways, but I support him in acknowledging the heaviness that exists in both of our hearts, as this relationship has been deeply meaningful to us."

Referring to Olukoya as her "closest companion," the former ABC star mentioned that she still holds affection for her former partner.

"I will always have an unwavering desire to witness your success," Young expressed. "I will forever value and cherish the incredible encounters, unwavering support, and personal development that both Nayte and this journey have bestowed upon me. However, I am presently confronted with profound anguish and will require solitude and time to navigate through this profound heartache."

Olukoya and Young opened up about the reasons behind their breakup in the subsequent months.

Young suggested during an interview on the "Almost Famous" podcast in June 2022 that she did not anticipate the breakup. On the other hand, Olukoya expressed on the "Viall Files" podcast in September 2022 that he yearned for the Michelle he initially fell in love with, rather than the Michelle he ended the relationship with. He acknowledged that their relationship was a challenging one, characterized by numerous ups and downs, arguments, and disagreements. They struggled to connect and see things from the same perspective.

Young found it "interesting" to hear his perspective on the breakup during a conversation with Celeb Secrets that month. However, by December 2022, she had fully "healed."

"I prioritized my healing process from the beginning, despite the chaos happening around me," Young revealed to Life & Style at the time. "If you don't take the time to heal, your emotions will always be influenced by external factors."
