Schwer also shared his perspective on the breakup, stating that they simply were not right for each other. He mentioned that it was difficult to pinpoint one specific reason for the split. Despite this, he expressed gratitude for the unique circumstances in which they met and stated that he had no regrets. In February 2023, he moved on with his girlfriend, Elizabeth Turner.

Gabby Windey has learned a thing or two about finding love following her split from ex-fiancé Erich Schwer.

The former couple fell in love during their participation on season 19 of The Bachelorette and became engaged during the finale in September 2022. Unfortunately, shortly after Schwer's proposal aired, they decided to end their relationship within two months.

During her time competing on season 31 of Dancing With the Stars, Windey addressed the breakup for the first time on an episode of the ballroom competition series in November 2022. She explained to her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, that their relationship ended because they were not completely aligned in terms of their goals or the way they approached life. Windey also mentioned that they realized they were not the best match for each other.

Schwer shared his perspective on the breakup with girlfriend Elizabeth Turner in February 2023, stating that they were not meant for each other. He expressed his gratitude for their unique meeting and emphasized that he had no regrets. In November 2022, he addressed questions about the split through his Instagram Story, acknowledging that it was difficult to pinpoint a specific reason for their separation.

During an episode of the "Chicks in the Office" podcast, Windey clarified, "We are friends. We both appeared on Dancing With the Stars together. The ex-cheerleader persistently shared relatable videos centering around the challenges of seeking love. "When he attempts to instruct me on how to apply false eyelashes as though his 'ex-girlfriend used to do it like,'" she wrote as a caption on a TikTok.

"It's difficult to reveal everything at this moment, but I understand that everyone has been incredibly curious about my current romantic partner," Windey stated in an Instagram Story video, unveiling her new relationship. "As you know, I enjoy creating intrigue and playfully teasing, but I wanted to wait until I was prepared, as this is a significant topic – I am dating a woman."

She went on, expressing, "[I'm] in a relationship that feels distinct from anything I have ever experienced before. However, I felt compelled to share this news with you all because I always strive to live authentically and include you in my journey."

Windey later revealed during an appearance on The View that she’s started noticing her attraction to other women in the last few years.
