Bachelorette Star Shawn Booth Drops Bombshell: He's About to Become a Dad!

Five years after his relationship with Kaitlyn Bristowe, the season 11 Bachelorette, came to an end, Shawn Booth is opening up to Bachelor Nation about his personal life. The 37-year-old recently announced that he is going to be a father on his podcast, "In the Booth With Shawn Booth," stating that he has dated and had a girlfriend since his time on the show, but has always preferred to keep these aspects of his life private.

After teasing “a very big announcement,” Booth revealed he’s “going to be a dad.”

"On December 12, I received the news that I will soon be a father. I am incredibly excited about this unexpected surprise. The mother of my child is someone I have known and been in a relationship with for many years. I want to emphasize that she is not just a random girl I met recently. We are both going through this journey together, and I couldn't be happier. Although this was not planned, it is the most beautiful surprise I have ever experienced in my life. I am eagerly looking forward to becoming a dad, as it has always been a dream of mine."

While I cannot disclose her name at the moment, I hope that she will join me on my podcast in the near future, if she is comfortable with it. She is currently 18 weeks pregnant, and we have decided not to find out the gender of our baby until the birth. This adds to the anticipation and excitement surrounding this special moment in our lives."

During the course of her pregnancy, keeping it a secret was quite challenging. We only informed a select few, like her immediate family and closest friends," he explained. "It took me about 10 to 12 weeks before I felt comfortable sharing the news with anyone else. Recently, just a couple of weeks ago, she started returning to my gym. I encouraged her, telling her not to worry about what others may say. In a small town like Nashville, gossip spreads quickly, so I convinced her to come back, and soon enough, everyone in Nashville knew.

Booth continued to express his admiration for the mother of his child, revealing that she has agreed to combine their last names for their baby's name.

“She’s going to make an exceptional mother, and the whole experience will be extraordinary. It's incredibly overwhelming," he expressed. "Moreover, it's tough for the dad as well, as it takes time to fully comprehend the reality of having a child — one's body doesn't change, nor do they experience the hormonal shifts. Nevertheless, there is a strong desire to assist as much as possible. However, there isn't much one can do physically... Hence, she has been an absolute champion, a true rock star throughout the journey."

Booth reflected on his unconventional journey, describing it as an exhilarating experience. He acknowledged that he has lived a non-traditional life and recognizes that his current path is also unorthodox. Anticipating potential judgment, Booth expressed his indifference towards the opinions and thoughts of others. He emphasized that societal expectations such as being married hold little importance to him.
