Fontaine will make its debut in Genshin Impact with the upcoming Version 3.7, and players are in for a treat as they get a glimpse of the nation's Visions through the introduction of a new character named Charlotte. While fan-made concepts of Visions have always been popular, HoYoverse's take on it has been rather minimalistic. Each Vision is designed to match the aesthetics of the nation it belongs to, and it is said that the deity of the nation grants the holder of the Vision elemental power. For instance, Thoma from Mondstadt possesses a Pyro Vision from Inazuma after being blessed by the Yashiro Commission.
Although not yet a playable character, Charlotte is the first Vision holder from Fontaine that players will encounter in Genshin Impact. As a news reporter from The Steambird, Charlotte will bring a unique aspect to the game as the first Cryo Catalyst character. With Version 3.8 not introducing any new characters, all indications point to Charlotte's release in Version 4.0 alongside a significant portion of the Fontaine cast.
The Fontaine Vision, a brass design adorned with subtle imagery of waves, industry, and the fleur-de-lis, is a symbol of Charlotte's divine favor and citizenship in Fontaine. This design perfectly captures the essence of Fontaine in Genshin Impact, which is a steampunk France surrounded by stunning waterfalls. However, Version 3.7 introduces a new character, Kirara, to Genshin Impact. Kirara is a Dendro Sword user who excels in providing support and possesses a unique skill of sneaking up on frightful critters like pigeons, previously exclusive to Aloy from the Horizon franchise. Kirara, a 4-star character, joins the banner rerun along with Yae Miko and Yoimiya, with the latter receiving her second story quest chapter.
Version 3.8 of Genshin Impact is just around the corner and players are eagerly anticipating the chance to experience the new content firsthand. The update will put the spotlight on Eula and her much-awaited banner rerun. Additionally, a new temporary zone will be introduced as part of its flagship event. But the most exciting news is that this update will be the final chapter of Sumeru. This means that players will finally have the opportunity to explore the Archon Focalors and the City of Justice. Genshin Impact is currently available on PC, Mobile, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
