Flavor Flav showed his support for Taylor Swift's latest song "thanK you aIMee," which mentions Kim Kardashian in both the title and lyrics.
The rapper, aged 65, expressed his thoughts on Friday, April 19, stating, "Ya boy always says KIM. Keep It Moving."
Flavor Flav, previously known as "King Swiftie," is among the many fans who have shared their thoughts on Taylor Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
In her 11th studio album, Swift draws inspiration from her past relationships and appears to allude to her feud with Kardashian. A clever hint can be found in the title "thanK you aIMee," where she spells out "Kim" in capital letters, a tactic familiar to longtime fans of Swift's music.
Swift talks about a statue of "Aimee" that has a bronze spray-tanned appearance and a plaque threatening to push her down the stairs at school, hinting at experiences with bullying.
The lyrics express feelings of hurt and resilience, with references to building something while being punched, feeling hurt but also finding healing in the end. The singer screams out frustrations to the night sky, but also acknowledges the process of healing from the pain caused by "Aimee."
In another part of the song, Swift appears to reference Kardashian's oldest daughter, North, who once posted a video of herself dancing to Swift's popular song "Shake It Off."
She sings, "And one day, your kid comes home singing a song that only the two of us know is about you."
The feud between Swift and Kardashian started in 2009 when Kanye West interrupted Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs, saying Beyoncé should have won. West apologized, but tensions rose again in 2016 when he mentioned Swift in his song "Famous." She objected, leading Kardashian to defend West by releasing a recorded phone conversation.
However, in 2020, fans discovered that Kardashian's video didn't show the full story. A longer version of Swift's phone call leaked online, and she later confirmed on social media that she had been truthful all along.
