Final Fantasy 16: Ultimate Side Quest Guide for True Heroes

Bearers in Final Fantasy 16 are subjected to atrocious treatment, being used as slaves to channel aether until their bodies petrify. Even the children of Valisthea hold no regard for Bearers, as demonstrated by side quests like "All Bark" and "Playthings." However, there are still compassionate individuals remaining, as players will discover upon completing the "Friend of the People" side quest in Northreach.

In "Friend of the People," Clive encounters a settlement official who requests his assistance in distributing items to improve the Bearers' quality of life. While it falls under the category of another item delivery side quest in Final Fantasy 16, it serves as a poignant reminder that not everyone in Valisthea lacks compassion as initially perceived.

How to Complete Friend of the People in Final Fantasy 16

To activate "Friend of the People" in Final Fantasy 16, players must seek out Mathieu, an Oriflamme official located on the wooden walkway that offers a view of the Imperial Training Grounds in Northreach. It is important to note that this quest becomes accessible only after players have embarked on the "The Dame" subquest within the main story mission "Righting Wrongs."

Mathieu will ask Clive to distribute some food to three mistreated Bearers, all of whom can be found nearby. Once they have the food, players should proceed to the courtyard and go past the Bearer near the weapon racks. They cannot speak to him right away, so they should continue straight to the laundry area and talk to the Bearer who is drying fabric. Next, they should go to The Dragon's Armer forge and speak with the Bearer there. After that, players can return to the first Bearer, who will now be able to receive his item.

After distributing all three food items, players can proceed to complete the quest by heading to The Veil and conversing with the Veil Courtesan, who is located in the yard. Expressing gratitude to Clive for his assistance, the Veil Courtesan will offer a reward of 25 Magicked Ash. Additionally, players will receive 19 XP and 1,000 Gil for their efforts.
