There are numerous side quests available in Final Fantasy 16, varying in levels of engagement. "Beast Against Beast" falls somewhere in between, offering a fairly straightforward experience with a touch of combat to distinguish it from the game's many fetch quests.
To activate this side quest, players must venture to the Greensheaves area in the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, which is a mandatory part of the main story mission "Holding On." Interestingly, completing "Beast Against Beast" actually brings players closer to their ultimate destination, making it a worthwhile endeavor on their initial journey through the area.
How to Complete Beast Against Beast in Final Fantasy 16
Just as it did for the "What a Bird Wants" side quest, the main questline will lead players directly past the quest giver for "Beast Against Beast". Along their journey through Greensheaves towards Eastpool during the "Holding On" main story mission, players will come across Fredric near a broken archway. The unlucky hunter will request players to eliminate a pack of hungry wolves that have been devouring his bait. After completing the task, players are then instructed to speak with a man named Brice, who is located a little further up ahead.
Assuming players agree to assist, they should proceed along the designated path until they come across the wolves mentioned earlier. Here, they will need to eliminate the hungry creatures. However, players can easily handle this task by utilizing one or two of Phoenix's Eikonic Abilities. Even employing a straightforward hack and slash approach, the wolves can be swiftly dealt with in a matter of minutes. Once the wolves are defeated, players can then continue on their journey to locate Brice.
Brice, also known as the "Vexed Villager," can be found along the main path as players enter the Broken Hilt area of the map in Final Fantasy 16. Despite his different name, interacting with Brice will still complete the side quest. As a reward for completing the quest, Brice will give players ten Wyrrite and a Meteorite. Additionally, players will earn 22 XP and 1,000 Gil for their efforts. Afterward, players can proceed to Eastpool, where they will encounter an old friend and discover a new outfit. Final Fantasy 16 is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
