Shanna Moakler has alleged that Kim Kardashian contributed to the dissolution of her marriage to ex-husband Travis Barker. Moakler, 48, disclosed during her appearance on the "Dumb Blonde" podcast on Wednesday, January 10, that she and Barker, also 48, were in the process of "working" on their marriage when she received text messages from an anonymous source containing conversations between Barker and Kardashian, 43.
Moakler alleged that they were attempting to arrange a meeting for a sexual encounter at her sister's house. She claimed that when she showed the messages to Barker, he deleted them. According to Moakler, she also contacted Kardashian, who denied the affair and made a derogatory comment about white men.
Moakler and Barker got married in 2004 and had two children, Landon in 2003 and Alabama in 2005. After initially separating in 2006, they had an on-and-off relationship for two years before officially divorcing in 2008.
Moakler revealed that the drama with Kardashian ultimately led to the end of her relationship with Barker, as they were never able to recover from it. Barker, on the other hand, denied any physical involvement with Kim and emphasized that their interactions were simply limited to dinner and lunch. He is now married to Kourtney Kardashian, the sister of Kim, with whom he tied the knot in May 2022.

On Travis Barker and Kim Kardashian
Moakler stated that she and Barker were attempting to resolve their relationship issues when she received an "anonymous text" containing alleged conversations between the rocker and Kim. According to Moakler, the messages indicated that the two were planning to meet at Kim's sister's house for a sexual encounter. She also mentioned that the connection between Barker and Kim occurred while Kim was modeling for Barker's clothing brand.
"I was really hoping to make this relationship work. I was completely devoted to him," Moakler expressed, revealing that she had shown the messages to Barker, who then claimed to have "deleted" them, stating, "'I don't see anything.'"
Moakler recounted that she allegedly received a call from Kim, in which Kim said, "I don't like white guys." Moakler expressed feeling that the relationship with Travis never truly recuperated from that moment, adding, "I felt stupid." Additionally, Moakler claimed to have "caught" Barker with Lindsay Lohan, stating that he was "living the rockstar life." Despite this, she emphasized that they always found their way back to each other.
On the Kardashian Family
Despite their challenges, Moakler expressed her determination to make things work for the sake of the family. "I was deeply in love with him," she stated. "I wanted my children to witness their parents being in love."
In 2021, there was much attention on Moakler when her children, Alabama and Landon, publicly revealed that she was not currently part of their lives. Moakler mentioned that she felt like she was experiencing "parental alienation" from her children, due to their father, Barker, dating Kourtney. She explained her frustration by pointing out that the situation was being portrayed in the media, and she described the Kardashian family as a "media machine."
"I was completely overwhelmed and mistreated. All because of my children. It's outrageous to attack someone who has kids. They're a terrible family. I find them revolting and have no interest in getting to know them."
“I’m exhausted from constantly being criticized. I have no obligation to tolerate that family,” she expressed. “I’m not intimidated by them and I have no affection for them. I distanced myself. I distanced myself.”

On Travis Barker’s Plane Crash
Following a September 2008 plane crash that resulted in the death of four people and caused Barker to sustain third-degree burns on 65 percent of his body, Moakler alleged that she was attempting to facilitate communication between the musician and his children when she stumbled upon emails in which Barker criticized her parenting approach.
"We took his computer to him with the hope that seeing the kids would give him the strength to keep fighting," she said. "While setting up his computer, I glanced at his emails and saw messages from other women. It didn't bother me, but what really hurt was reading derogatory comments about my mothering skills. I couldn't believe he was the one behind some of those hurtful words. I went home and cried in my mother's arms for hours."
Moakler reflected, "Looking back now, I realize I should have taken the time to heal while he recovered."
On Gerard Butler Rumors
Moakler shared that a misunderstanding between her and Barker over Moakler’s friendship with Gerard Butler also played a part in their divorce.
"I used to go out and drink a lot. I was friends with Gerard Butler," she stated. "I bumped into him at the club and the paparazzi snapped photos of us that made it look like we were kissing. We weren't. Travis saw the pictures... and our relationship never bounced back."
Moakler said that Barker was "convinced" she had been unfaithful after the incident, but they continued to "live together" for the sake of their children. "We were co-parenting," she clarified. "We wanted to be there for our kids. It continued until almost 2014."
Moakler and Barker lived together until she began a relationship with her now-ex, Brian Sollima. When their relationship got serious, she told Barker that she couldn't live with him anymore. She mentioned that she had stopped talking to Travis around 2014 and they started following each other again right before Kourtney. They still co-parent and have two talented children - a 24-year-old daughter and a 20-year-old son who is living with his girlfriend, Charli D'Amelio.
On Why Her Marriage With Travis Barker Broke Down
"He didn't desire to be recognized as part of a duo or a personality from a reality TV show," she stated, in reference to their previous MTV series, Meet the Barkers. "His aspiration was to be acknowledged as a musician. He was truly punk rock. He brought the show to a halt. I believe he saw himself as the primary focus. When the focus shifted to us as a couple, and I aimed to be a power couple, he wasn't interested in that."
On Travis Barker and Paris Hilton
Moakler stated that following her initial separation from Barker, she had a confrontation with Paris Hilton at Hyde nightclub in Los Angeles. (Moakler accused Barker of having a relationship with Hilton while they were married.)
"That was essentially the end of everything," she revealed. "He went to Paris. At the same time, I think he was also talking to Kim."
Despite their difficulties, Moakler insisted that she continued to support Barker in his journey to sobriety after he struggled while on tour. "It was like something out of a Johnny Cash song," she remarked. "Everyone wanted to live the rockstar lifestyle. They wanted him to go out, party, drink, and meet women to feel cool. But he had a family. We eventually reunited and tried to work through it all."

On Falling for Oscar De La Hoya
"We locked eyes and it was like an instant connection. Our romance with Oscar De La Hoya was quite a whirlwind," she recalled, noting that despite his heavy drinking, he was also a very fun person. They eventually got engaged, but called it off in 2000. "He loves singing and is very outgoing," she added. "We were like babies when we met, he was 25 at the time."
Moakler revealed that she became pregnant with their daughter, Atiana, just six months after meeting La Hoya, who was 50 at the time, and the couple decided to live together.
“We were deeply in love,” she recounted. “I believe our first date, I went to Big Bear and we flew to Vegas on a private jet. I recall people calling out, ‘Champ, champ!’ I didn’t know much about the boxing world or him. He is very romantic. We simply fell in love.”
On the Breakup With Oscar De La Hoya
Moakler claimed La Hoya did her “pretty dirty” with alleged infidelity after the birth of their daughter.
"Atiana was around one and a half to two years old at the time. She mentioned the presence of numerous third parties. He had just suffered a defeat in his first fight. I encountered him at Universal and asked, 'Is this something you still desire?'" Moakler mentioned that La Hoya assured her they would revive their relationship once he returned from filming Late Night With David Letterman. "It was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment," she stated.
Moakler claimed that La Hoya attended the Latin Grammy Awards in Los Angeles with Mille Corretjer without informing her, and seeing them together holding hands caused her to feel breathless. She expressed feeling helpless and recounted how the next day they were told to leave by a lawyer and how the situation became chaotic and overwhelming. She also mentioned that La Hoya never contacted her again and ended their relationship through his assistant, leaving her feeling like her life was over.
Moakler also claimed that she “quit everything” for La Hoya because he “did not want me working.”
On Claims Daughter Atiana Didn’t See Oscar De La Hoya Until She Was ‘About 16’
Moakler remembered a conversation she had with La Hoya about child support following their split. According to her, he allegedly said, "I won’t see you or the baby until she’s 16 [if she sued him for palimony]." Then he got out of the car and told her, "I have more money than God. Don’t be too hard on me," before leaving. She sued him for palimony and won, feeling as though she had no other option.
On Her Relationship With Her Children
She added, "Until she was about 16, he didn't see the baby and me. She grew up without knowing her father. However, they have reconciled now. He has apologized and made amends with me."
"I have a great relationship with my kids," she said. "Parental alienation is a real thing. I raised all my kids and I did a good job. My kids and I never had any bumps in the road until my ex-husband [Travis] started dating a Kardashian crew. I’m very confident in who I am as a mother. I’m very close with my kids."

Unfamiliar with Blink-182, she had hesitations about getting involved with someone going through a divorce, but after encountering Travis a second time, she ended up going back to his hotel with him to listen to music.
Upon their first kiss, Moakler felt an immediate connection and knew that she had met the love of her life. Six months later, she became pregnant. "Travis is without a doubt the love of my life in every possible way, more so than Oscar," she revealed.
