The allegations made by Collin and Hannah Gosselin against their mother, Kate Gosselin, in the Vice documentary have created a rift with their other siblings, according to an exclusive source in the latest issue of We magazine.
According to the insider, the siblings living with Kate have had limited contact with Collin and Hannah ever since they moved in with their father, Jon Gosselin. It is unlikely that they will now have any further contact following the release of this documentary.
Kate, who is 48 years old, and her ex-husband Jon, 46, have a total of eight children together. These include twins Mady and Cara, who are now 22 years old, and sextuplets named Collin, Hannah, Aaden, Joel, Alexis, and Leah, all of whom are 19 years old.
In Vice's Dark Side of the 2000s documentary, Collin and Hannah openly discussed their childhood experiences; however, their other siblings made the decision to remain silent.
According to a source, the remaining Gosselin children do not desire attention or fame and find the current situation embarrassing.
Following Kate and Jon's divorce in 2009 after a decade of marriage, the fractures within the Gosselin family started to show. Initially, Kate had custody of all the children, but in 2018, Collin and Hannah chose to live with their father. It was later disclosed that Collin sought comfort with Jon after undergoing a two-year program at the Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute to address his specific requirements.

Collin and Kate's relationship was strained after she admitted him to a mental health facility in 2016. Recently, their complicated dynamic made news once again when Collin made shocking allegations during Vice's Dark Side of the 2000s episode on July 19. He claimed that his mother had institutionalized him as a teenager in order to conceal the alleged abuse he suffered from her.
"I was about to inform my teachers about my mother's behavior — wait, can I say 'abusive' or is it inappropriate for broadcasting?" Collin commenced his interview.
Following the producer's query about whether Collin meant to say his mother was abusive, Collin affirmed. "Yes, indeed. That's essentially why she sent me away," he claimed. "I had begun sharing what was happening at home, and once she caught wind of that, she had to place me somewhere I couldn't expose the truth."

In the docuseries, Hannah recalled how Collin was separated from her and their siblings during their upbringing. She mentioned that he was not able to play outside with them and had different dinner times. Hannah also expressed her belief that their home didn't make enough effort to teach Collin the difference between acceptable and unacceptable behavior.
On the other hand, Kate reacted to the allegations and denied them in a statement issued on July 21. She stated that Collin had received several psychiatric diagnoses and that his numerous outbursts and attacks were the reasons behind his admission to a treatment facility.
She maintained that she had no desire to speak out against her son, but circumstances forced her into a position where she had no other option. Kate asserted that she took all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of everyone in their family before deciding to admit Collin to an institution.
Moreover, Kate contended that since Jon removed Collin from treatment in 2018, his behavior, which is both unpredictable and violent, has sadly persisted.
Despite professing her continued love for Collin, Kate claimed that he remains a deeply troubled individual requiring significant assistance. She mentioned that due to his past record of erratic conduct and violent tendencies towards his siblings and herself, they have not had direct involvement in his life.
On the same day, Jon sharply criticized his former wife for making supposedly unfounded accusations against Collin. In an interview with The U.S. Sun on July 21, he stated that Kate's remarks were merely another means for her to rationalize her reprehensible past behavior towards Collin.
Jon emphasized that a genuine affection for a child does not involve a mother publicly assaulting her own son. Additionally, he pointed out that a judge has granted Collin's father sole legal and physical custody.
