Mortal Kombat 1 has officially announced three additional characters for the game: Motaro, Nitara, and Reiko. NetherRealm's much-anticipated fighting game has made a big impact at this year's San Diego Comic Con. Two new Mortal Kombat 1 trailers have been made available to the public during the event, while a third one has been exclusively shown to attendees in San Diego.
The first two trailers for Mortal Kombat 1, unveiled at San Diego Comic Con, introduced some new characters to the game's ever-expanding roster. These characters include Peacemaker, Omni Man, and Homelander, who were leaked prior to the trailers. Unfortunately, the third trailer from Comic Con has not been officially released online as of yet, but reports from those present at the event confirm that it showcases three additional characters.
According to ComicBook, the third Mortal Kombat 1 trailer showcased Motaro, Nitara, and Reiko. Motaro, a unique character with four legs and a Centaurian appearance, first made an appearance in Mortal Kombat 3. Nitara, on the other hand, is a winged vampire who debuted in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance in 2002. Reiko is an Outworld character who was first introduced in Mortal Kombat 4. While all three characters had brief appearances in Mortal Kombat 11, it appears that they will have more significant roles in Mortal Kombat 1. However, it is unclear whether they will be fully playable members of the roster, cameo fighters, or solely featured in story mode cutscenes.
For those unfamiliar, Kameo Fighters introduce a fresh concept in Mortal Kombat 1, allowing players to call upon the assistance of various other Mortal Kombat characters during battles. Although not fully playable, these characters will still play a significant role in the gameplay. Additionally, some characters will serve dual roles as both Kameo Fighters and members of the main roster, which loyal Mortal Kombat fans should bear in mind.
The release date for the newest Mortal Kombat 1 trailer to the public is still unknown, but hopefully fans won't have to wait too much longer. The game made an appearance at Comic Con, and the roster for Mortal Kombat 1 is slowly being finalized, with both the Kameo Fighters and main roster being filled out. With the game's release date quickly approaching, fans can expect to have a complete list of Mortal Kombat 1 characters soon.
Mortal Kombat 1 will be available on September 19 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
