The Marvels recently made its theatrical debut and many fans are curious about the inclusion of Thor’s Valkyrie. With tremendous success on Rotten Tomatoes, the MCU has introduced their latest superhero ensemble film.
In the movie, Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel join forces to prevent the destruction of the galaxy by an alien race. Amidst the numerous discussions surrounding The Marvels, fans are eager to uncover the reason behind Valkyrie, one of Thor's notable allies, appearing in a cameo role. Here's all the information we have.
Why does Valkyrie appear in The Marvels?
Valkyrie appears briefly in The Marvels after Captain Marvel asks for her help.
After their unsuccessful attempt to halt Dar-Benn and her Kree forces from decimating a Skrull refugee settlement, The Marvels lend their assistance in facilitating the escape of as many Skrulls as possible onto Captain Marvel's vessel.
Given the absence of any alternative planets for the Skrulls to seek refuge on, Captain Marvel calls upon Valkyrie to transport the remaining Skrulls to New Asgard utilizing the Bifröst.
New Asgard is the settlement of Asgardians and refugees from Sakaar Thor created in Norway after they managed to survive Thanos’ attack in Avengers: Infinity War.
Thor reigned over New Asgard until the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame, where he bestowed the title of the new king upon Valkyrie and embarked on his journey with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Despite Captain Marvel and Valkyrie having limited on-screen interactions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it is logical to assume that they would become steadfast allies, having fought alongside each other in Endgame.
Given the mutual technical prowess of both alien beings, it should come as no surprise to Marvel fans that they not only show mutual respect but also extend offers to assist each other. Catch The Marvels in theaters now and explore more of our coverage below:

As an enthusiastic fan, I was thrilled to see Valkyrie make a cameo appearance in The Marvels. Her brief but impactful role in the film helped to further flesh out her character and establish her as a key player in the MCU. I particularly enjoyed the scene where she helps Captain Marvel and the other heroes transport the Skrulls to New Asgard. This scene not only showcased Valkyrie's strength and fighting prowess but also highlighted her compassion and willingness to help those in need.
Overall, I think Valkyrie's cameo in The Marvels was a great way to keep fans engaged and excited about her character. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Valkyrie and the rest of the MCU.
