In every season of Bridgerton, the music supervisors have chosen to use reimagined versions of popular songs by modern artists like Taylor Swift, Nirvana, and Rihanna to create the perfect atmosphere for the historical drama scenes.
The show, based on Julia Quinn's series of Regency romance novels, made its debut on Netflix in 2020. Fans were thrilled to hear orchestral covers of hit songs such as Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next" and Maroon 5's "Girls Like You" playing in the background during the elegant ballroom scenes.
In May 2024, season 3 of Bridgerton premiered with an updated soundtrack featuring covers of popular songs like Swift’s “Snow on the Beach” and BTS’ “Dynamite.” These song choices were specifically selected to capture the essence of Colin and Penelope’s transition from friends to lovers.
According to music supervisor Justin Kamps, the selection process for the soundtrack involved analyzing the storyline and themes of the two romantic leads. By understanding where the characters’ relationship was headed, they were able to choose covers that would enhance the emotional depth of their romance.
Kamps explained that they consider the emotions and vibes brought out by the strings in each sequence. The songs they choose are influenced by the characters and story of the season.

"We never know what the final track will be," Coughlan shared with TV Central during the Australian launch of season 3 in April 2024. "But my pick actually made it into the show. I think that's pretty cool."
