Many Bravo reality shows have broken the fourth wall over the years, sometimes multiple times. But there are some fourth wall breaks that stand out as truly iconic.

After a lackluster season of Vanderpump Rules, Bravo made a big move in the season 11 finale, which aired in May 2024. Following a dramatic season 10 in 2023 that saw Tom Sandoval's relationship with Ariana Madix end due to his affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, the show took a new direction.

In the season 10 finale, the cast had supported Ariana after her breakup with Sandoval. However, in the season 11 finale, things took a turn when her castmates criticized her to producers for not filming scenes with Sandoval, portraying her as the villain.

Below Deck is another show that has featured a fourth wall break. Captain Lee is known for interacting with producers on camera and he fully supports it.

During an episode of the “Salty With Captain Lee” podcast in September 2023, he expressed his belief that production should break the fourth wall more often. According to him, many unnecessary situations could have been avoided if the fourth wall was not considered so sacred. He even suggested that there are times when the fourth wall should be disregarded completely.

Kenya Moore Is ‘Done’ With Filming

In a January 2018 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya was seen storming out of the frame, giving the cameras the middle finger, and declaring that she was "done" with filming.

"I didn't come here to always be dragged through the mud," she shouted. "I don't care. I don't care about any of those women."

The outburst happened after a dramatic dinner with Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams. Kenya was accused of being rude during their trip to Houston.

“I didn’t act rude to anyone at that event. Screw these hoes,” she shouted at the producers.

Ashton Pienaar’s Scary Moment on ‘Below Deck’

During the filming of Below Deck season 6 in 2018, Ashton Pienaar found himself in a terrifying situation. A tender line got tangled around his ankle, prompting him to call for help from the producers. Thanks to quick action, he was pulled to safety by a cameraman who managed to free him before any serious harm occurred.

Throughout season 10 of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa chose to stay quiet about her involvement in the drama between Danielle Staub and Margaret Josephs. However, Danielle later revealed that Teresa had actually encouraged her to pull Margaret’s hair. This shocking revelation was brought to light by Melissa Gorga during the season 10 finale in April 2020.

Denise expressed disbelief, saying, "You guys, I'm dealing with a lot of things right now that have nothing to do with any of us or the show. And Bravo, Bravo, Bravo." She was shocked by the accusations and pleaded, "Please do not broadcast this, it's not true."

The RHOSLC season 4 finale made history when Heather Gay broke the fourth wall. She told producers they couldn't film a secret phone call that revealed the identity of Reality Von Tease, also known as Monica Garcia.

Heather received a phone call confirming that Monica was the one behind the Instagram drama account spreading rumors about the RHOSLC women. In that moment, she asked production to leave the room.

Summer House season 8, which aired in 2024, depicted the engagement journey of former couple Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard, highlighting their highs and lows before ultimately parting ways. One notable moment occurred when Carl's stepdad, Lou, expressed his reluctance to support their marriage due to their relationship challenges. Initially, Carl chose to withhold this information from Lindsay, but was reminded by Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula that their lives were being filmed for a TV show.

During a pivotal scene, Amanda pointed out the presence of the filming crew to Carl, questioning whether Lindsay would eventually see the footage.
