Tyler Stanaland has chosen to part ways with the Oppenheim Group and will no longer be associated with the real estate agency. In a statement, the 34-year-old revealed that he will be joining his father and brother at Douglas Elliman. He expressed his enthusiasm in aligning with a brand that has extensive market reach and a distinguished network of agents and industry leaders. Stanaland further stated his excitement for this new chapter in his career and the opportunity to work alongside his family once again.

Tyler's father, John Stanaland, took to his Instagram on October 5th to celebrate Tyler's career move. "Welcome back, @tylerstanaland. I am thrilled to announce the return of my eldest son, @tylerstanaland, to my team," John stated. "Having worked alongside me for 12 years, in 2021 Tyler joined @theoppenheimgroup and made an appearance on Selling the OC. Now, it's time for a new chapter at our esteemed brokerage, @douglaselliman."

Tyler added a comment to the post, saying, "Time to make things happen."

Earlier this year, Douglas Elliman Realty acquired the brokerage of The John Stanaland Group. According to a press release in January, the top-producing Orange County agent team, The John Stanaland Group, has now become a part of the firm. Led by John Stanaland, a fifth-generation real estate professional, the team of 11 members will operate from Elliman's Newport Beach office.

John’s firm had achieved sales amounting to over $300 million before transitioning to Douglas Elliman. The provided statement highlights that the team was accountable for four out of the five highest condominium sales in Orange County, California. Notably, Trevor Stanaland, Tyler’s brother, is also a member of John’s group.

John expressed his enthusiasm for Douglas Elliman, stating that their long history aligns with our appreciation for heritage in the business. He eagerly looks forward to investing in the growth of the Stanaland team with the support and global reach provided by this exceptional company.

Tyler, a former surfer, started his real estate journey working under the guidance of his father. However, in pursuit of establishing himself in the industry, he transitioned to Jason and Brett Oppenheim's brokerage before the first season of Selling the OC.

"It's a significant leap to break away from the security of the family business, and to do so publicly, in front of the entire world, makes it even more daunting," Tyler expressed during the first season of the reality TV series on Netflix. "Fortunately, I have an incredibly supportive family who have taught me everything I know."

He further explained, "As a young man filled with pride, there comes a moment when you strive to forge your own path, and this felt like the perfect opportunity. Not only was the timing right, but when Jason brought his brand to Orange County, it just seemed like it was meant to be. I took a leap of faith, and now we'll see how it all unfolds."

In season 2, Tyler became increasingly at ease with selling real estate, and he even expressed gratitude for his father's assistance. Having secured numerous property listings through John's connections, Tyler teamed up with his former Oppenheim colleague, Austin Victoria, to cohost a couple of open houses for John.

The impact of Tyler's professional decision on forthcoming seasons of Selling the OC remains uncertain. Season 3, which was filmed immediately following season 2, has yet to be released. The conclusion of the second season left viewers on the edge of their seats with a cliffhanger moment featuring Tyler sharing a kiss with his co-star, Alex Hall.

"We are still navigating our friendship in season 2, where we explore certain aspects that lead to a passionate moment. It is an ongoing process for us, and we are currently trying to figure things out," Tyler shared exclusively with Us last month. "Despite everything, we remain incredibly close friends, although I cannot provide a definite answer at this moment."

Hall, 35, joined the conversation, stating that audiences will have to "stay tuned for season 3" to discover the future of their friendship. "You will gain a much better understanding. Whether we like it or not, cameras are constantly following us," she remarked. "Honestly, at times, it feels like they are always present."

Tyler's romantic relationships have been a central focus of the show, starting from season 1 while he was still married to actress Brittany Snow. However, their marriage ended before the start of season 2, amid allegations that Tyler was overly flirtatious with his colleagues at the O Group.
