Exclusive Sneak Peek: Unveiling Michael Keaton's Return as Batman in Batgirl

Newly revealed Batgirl movie images provide intriguing insights into the presence of Michael Keaton's Batman, while an industry insider claims to have witnessed the shelved DC film

New behind-the-scenes images of Batgirl reveal Michael Keaton's Batman donning an upgraded bulletproof batsuit in The Flash. The film would have continued with this storyline, but unfortunately, it was canceled during the post-production phase.

James Gunn made changes to one of the endings in The Flash. Originally, it was planned for Ben Affleck's Batman to be trapped in a different part of the multiverse and seek help from Barry Allen, similar to how Flash reached out to Bruce Wayne in Batman v Superman. This ending would have also hinted at a team-up between Keaton's Batman and Sasha Calle's Supergirl, as they join forces with Barry for a Crisis on Infinite Earths-inspired plot under the previous Warner Bros. management. However, before reaching this point, the previous management had intended to release Batgirl, which would have followed this new timeline and introduced Leslie Grace as Batgirl alongside Keaton's Batman.

New images of the upcoming Batgirl movie have surfaced online, leaving fans intrigued. These leaked images show more of Keaton's Batman and a face-to-face encounter between Batgirl and Batman in a Gothic version of Gotham City. The setting boasts cathedral-like architecture, giving it a unique and eerie vibe.

Interestingly, it seems that The Flash has played a role in altering the timeline, allowing certain characters, like actor J.K. Simmons reprising his role as Jim Gordon from the DCEU, to continue in this universe. However, it is believed that the events of Batgirl take place within the Burton-verse, a nod to Tim Burton's iconic portrayal of Gotham. An insider, ViewerAnon, who claims to have seen the movie before its cancellation, describes it as "solid" and confirms the Tim Burton aesthetic.

DC Studios CEO Peter Safran has publicly stated that Batgirl was deemed unreleasable and would have had a negative impact on the brand. However, many fans and industry insiders, including Kevin Smith and ViewerAnon, have expressed skepticism over this statement. Behind-the-scenes images and the introduction of the multiverse in The Flash suggest that Batgirl could have coexisted alongside other Elseworlds stories like Joker and The Batman in the DCU.

This raises questions about Warner Bros.' decision to justify not releasing the film by questioning its quality and subsequently obtaining a tax write-off. Fans may question whether the new leadership truly has the brand's best interests at heart or if they truly understand what fans want.

Warner Bros. Discovery's decision to cancel Batgirl has been reported, which has led to disappointment among fans.
