A leak has surfaced regarding the highly anticipated limited time region set to be introduced in the upcoming Version 3.8 update of Genshin Impact. As part of patch-exclusive events, HoYoverse has a history of adding limited regions to the game's core map, and this new addition is highly anticipated. While previous events introduced the Golden Apple Archipelago in Versions 1.8 and 2.8, this new region is expected to be a prelude to the Fontaine region and will not be a return to the archipelago. The leaked map reveals that the region, known as Penumbra, will feature Klee in its storyline, as well as the long-awaited return of Eula. Despite HoYoverse keeping official details under wraps, this leak has given players a glimpse into what they can expect.

Prominent Genshin Impact leaker Merlin Impact has shared an image revealing the rumored map for the region known as Penumbra. Contrary to previous expectations, the map does not include islands and instead seems to share design elements with Sumeru. Penumbra is expected to feature several points of Sumeru-style architecture with its buildings, as well as giant flowers scattered throughout the southwestern corner of the map. The map also features a building with a multi-colored roof, potentially teasing the architecture of the upcoming Fontaine region.

The reveal of the new limited region is accompanied by several other leaks surrounding the upcoming content set to come with the final Sumeru update. The Version 3.8 update is expected to be the first patch since the HoYoverse RPG's launch to not introduce any new characters to Genshin Impact. However, leaks suggest that Eula will make her return to the game after being absent from a limited banner for over 500 days. Additionally, Version 3.8 is expected to bring new skins for Klee and Kaeya, as well as three new Character Cards for Genius Invokation TCG.

Penumbra's introduction to Genshin Impact has been highly anticipated as a prelude to the game's upcoming addition of Fontaine, the fifth major region in Teyvat. Fontaine has been touted as one of the most advanced regions technologically, with "justice" as its central theme. The region is expected to introduce new mechanics and puzzles revolving around water, including leaked underwater mechanics and a diverse range of aquatic wildlife. With Version 4.0 slated for release this summer, Genshin Impact fans can look forward to exploring the game's newest region in the near future.

Genshin Impact is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Switch version currently in development.
