Key members of the development team for Mortal Kombat 1 have teased the potential return of two beloved characters from previous games as playable fighters. Recently on Twitter, Ed Boon shared another mysterious hint about Mortal Kombat 1. He hinted that the vengeful Edenian Prince Rain may be included in the lineup of warriors. The message he posted, "...the phone rings. It's Vicky calling....," has left fans puzzled. Some speculate that it refers to Prince's song "Vicki Waiting," which could be a nod to Rain, considering he was created as a tribute to the late pop superstar, with his name and color scheme inspired by "Purple Rain."

Additionally, Cory Taylor, the community manager for Warner Bros. Games, responded to one of Ed Boon's previous Twitter posts with his own tease about Mortal Kombat 1. Boon had mentioned that another gameplay trailer is on its way, and Taylor retweeted it, claiming that it will "melt faces." While Taylor did not mention any specific character, fans speculate it could be referring to Reptile's trademark acid-spitting power. Reptile has been highly requested by fans and was even mentioned in a recent leak of the supposed character roster for Mortal Kombat 1.
