Genshin Impact confirms two new characters, Neuvillette and Wriothesley, for update 4.1 in the Fontaine region.

Neuvillette is a Hydro character known as the "Enforcer of Unyielding Verdict" and specializes in wielding a catalyst, with abilities that scale based on their HP.

Wriothesley, on the other hand, is a Cryo character proficient in using a polearm. Speculations suggest that he might join the Standard Banner lineup following the 4.1 update.

The upcoming update 4.1 of Genshin Impact has officially announced the arrival of two new characters, marking the second Fontaine update. As with previous region releases, players can anticipate a wealth of fresh content in the following months.

Through recent promotional videos and live stream events, the majority of the upcoming content has been revealed, showcasing new iconic locations, playable characters, weapons, and captivating storylines. Genshin Impact has adopted a pattern of unveiling new characters well in advance of their actual introduction to the live servers.

Genshin Impact's Twitter account has already shared splash arts for two new characters, Neuvillette and Wriothesley, indicating their arrival in the game's upcoming update 4.1 in September. These characters have been featured in promo videos in Fontaine, suggesting their connection to the Hydro nation. Neuvillette, known as the "Ordainer of Inexorable Judgment Iudex of Fontaine," is described in his official bio. He is a new Hydro user and wields a catalyst. Recent leaks suggest that Neuvillette will serve as a main DPS and off-field support, with skills that scale with HP. Wriothesley has also been the subject of numerous rumors in recent months.

The Twitter post confirms previous leaks that Wriothesley is a Cryo user, wielding a polearm as his primary weapon. Players are excited to see another Cryo polearm character in the roster. Both Wriothesley and the character mentioned earlier are expected to be rare five-star units. Reliable sources have hinted that Wriothesley may join the Standard Banner after update 4.1 concludes.

This wouldn't be the first time HoYoverse added a limited five-star character to the Standard Banner after their Limited Banner ended. This was also done with Tighnari and Dehya. Currently, HoYoverse hasn't revealed any other playable characters, suggesting that update 4.1 will likely not introduce any new four-star characters.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
